Which BMW models does this set fit?

Injector Dynamics lists the set for the M54 engine and does not publish a model list for it. The M54 was fitted to several BMW six cylinder models, so check the engine code on your car or its build data before ordering, and contact us if you are unsure which engine your car carries.

Is the ID1050-XDS Fuel Injector Set too large for a stock M54?

Yes, for an engine left stock. The ID1050-XDS Fuel Injector Set flows 1065cc per minute per injector at 3 bar, far more than a naturally aspirated M54 asks for. It belongs on a turbocharged or supercharged M54, or one converted to E85, where the factory injectors run out of capacity.

Do these connect to the factory M54 wiring without cutting it?

Yes. The injectors use USCAR connectors, so USCAR wiring needs nothing more. Other plug styles are handled by Injector Dynamics plug and play adapters for Denso, EV1 and Honda OBD2 connectors, sold separately, so no splicing into the factory wiring is needed.

Will the M54 need a new calibration with these injectors?

Yes. The ECU works out fuel delivery from injector flow, offset and short pulse data, and the ID1050-XDS differs from the factory injector on all of them. Injector Dynamics publishes characterization data for the 1050, which your tuner enters before the M54 is run so the mixture is right from idle to full load.

What does the warranty cover on this M54 set?

Manufacturer defects, for one year from the date of purchase, provided the injectors have run the correct fuel with proper filtration. Because the six M54 injectors are flow matched as a set, a single replacement comes through Injector Dynamics, which also offers a cleaning, inspection and flow test service in Arizona.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID1050-XDS Fuel Injector Set for BMW M54 Engines

Injector Dynamics’ ID1050-XDS Fuel Injector Set for BMW M54 engines replaces all six factory injectors on the M54 inline-six with 1065cc/min units developed alongside Bosch Motorsport. Each one sits on a 60mm body with a purple 14mm top adapter and a black bottom adapter. A naturally aspirated M54 with intake and exhaust work will not come near this much fuel. The set earns its place once boost or E85 is part of the plan, and the low-flow control kept from the ID1000 lets the car idle properly on gasoline meanwhile.

Configuration

Injector Dynamics catalogs this set by engine code: 02.01 is the M54 application, 60 is the body length in millimeters and 14 is the top size. The adapters come fitted for the factory rail and manifold positions.

Features

Six injectors flow matched as a group for even fueling across the cylinders
Developed with Bosch Motorsport, with corrosion-resistant internals for gasoline, ethanol and methanol
Magnetic circuit stable up to 10 bar differential pressure
Replaceable inlet filter on every injector

Specifications

Nominal flow: 1065cc/min at 3.0 bar (43.5 psi), gasoline at 52C (125F)
Maximum differential fuel pressure: 10.0 bar (145 psi)
Fuel compatibility: All known fuels
Electrical connector: USCAR
Body length: 60mm
Top: 14mm adapter (purple)
Lower: Bottom adapter (black)
Application code: 02.01, BMW M54

What’s Included

ID1050-XDS fuel injectors with top and bottom adapters fitted (x6)

Applications

Injector Dynamics lists the ID1050-XDS Fuel Injector Set in this configuration by engine, without naming individual models:

BMW: M54 inline-six

Notes

Listed for the M54 engine code only; confirm your engine before ordering
USCAR connectors are fitted; engines wired with Denso, EV1 or OBD2 plugs need Injector Dynamics plug-and-play adapters, sold separately; for Denso wiring see the Injector Dynamics USCAR to Denso PnP Adapter
Also offered for the M54 in the Injector Dynamics ID1300-XDS Fuel Injector Set for BMW M54 Engines
An ECU recalibration is required after fitting, using the Injector Dynamics characterization data

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
