Will this rail fit my factory seat or a reclining seat?

No. The rail is made only for full bucket seats that bolt on through four mounting points on their sides. Factory seats and reclining semi-bucket seats are not compatible, so you need a fixed-back side-mount bucket before this rail is useful.

How much lower does the Ultra-Low Seat Rail for DC2 sit?

The manufacturer measured about 60mm lower than the stock seat using a Recaro bucket seat mounted in its lowest position. That figure is a reference only. The Ultra-Low Seat Rail for DC2 cars can give a different result with another seat, and individual cars vary, so the drop is not guaranteed.

Is the rail sold as a pair?

No. Each listing option is a single rail for one seat position, chosen as Right or Left. A car with buckets on both sides needs one of each. Japanese DC2 cars are right-hand drive and US cars are left-hand drive, so confirm the correct side for your driver seat with Bulletproof Automotive before ordering.

Is it strong enough for track use?

Yes. The rail combines a stiff frame with lock levers on both sides, which the manufacturer says gives enough strength for the lateral load of circuit driving. It was strength tested at a public testing laboratory in 2010 and sled tested at the Japan Automobile Research Institute in 2014 and 2017.

Could the lower seat cause any interference?

Yes, in some cases. Depending on the seat and rail combination, the steering wheel center can end up slightly offset from the seat, and the seat may touch interior trim. Test fit your chosen bucket and check clearances before final tightening.

Description

J’s Racing Ultra-Low Seat Rail for DC2 Honda Integra Type R

J’s Racing’s Ultra-Low Seat Rail for DC2 Integra Type R drivers fixes the perched feeling many owners still have after fitting a fixed-back bucket on the seat maker’s own rails. The Osaka Honda specialist moved the lock levers to the sides of the rail so the seat shell can drop down between the rails rather than sit on top of them. It suits a driver who still sits too high or a dedicated track DC2 running a side-mount full bucket; it will not take a stock or reclining seat.

Development and Testing

J’s Racing set its own strength standard and had the rail strength tested at a public industrial testing laboratory in June 2010, then put it through sled crash tests at the Japan Automobile Research Institute in October 2014 and again in March 2017. J’s Racing reports that the results confirmed the strength and safety of its rails.

Side-mounted lock levers let the seat sit down between the rails
About 60mm lower than the stock seat in J’s Racing’s reference test

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
