Does the bumper come painted?

No. The Type-S GT Bumper for GK5 and other GK Fits arrives in black gelcoat FRP and needs paint plus fitting work before it goes on the car, neither of which is included. The aluminum mesh grille is already fitted, and the intake air guide comes in the box.

Can I keep my factory fog lamps and LED position lamps?

Yes. Both transfer from the stock bumper. Aftermarket LED fog bulbs are the exception: their heat sinks hit the bumper frame, so they cannot be used. Aftermarket HID bulbs are fine as long as they clear the frame. The manufacturer developed the bumper around the factory fog lamps.

Is the Type-S GT Bumper for GK5 too low for a daily driver?

No. It looks low, but the manufacturer designed it with a lowered car in mind and kept the height almost the same as the stock bumper so it can cross circuit curbs. Although the shape is aimed at circuit driving, the manufacturer says everyday street use was considered too.

How does it help cooling?

The radiator opening is wider and deeper than stock, with guides that push air through the full depth of the core to keep coolant temperature down. The asymmetric grille and a center opening feed cooler air to the intake, and the fog lamp openings can take ducts for brake cooling.

Can the car still be towed?

Yes. The tow hook mount sits behind a removable cover that is wide enough for a rope pulling to either side, so the bumper does not need to come off in an emergency. The factory hook fits, and the manufacturer also sells a dedicated tow hook separately.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S GT Bumper for GK5 Honda Fit

J’s Racing’s Type-S GT Bumper for GK5 Fits is the front bumper spoiler the Osaka tuner built to win in Super Taikyu, where it races as an aero part approved by the series organizer, the Super Taikyu Organization. Grille, bumper and under panel are one piece with few surface steps. The flat underside speeds the air moving beneath the car, trimming drag while generating front downforce, and the press lines on each side act like canards. It suits a lowered GK Fit that runs circuit days; an owner who wants the factory look should keep the stock bumper.

Design and Performance

Behind a radiator opening wider than stock, guides steer air deep into the core to hold coolant temperature down. The asymmetric grille enlarges the intake opening, and a center opening lowers intake air temperature further. The fog lamp openings accept duct fittings, so a hose can feed the brakes.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
