Is the intake duct included with the chamber?

No. The chamber is sold on its own, and the manufacturer says its full performance only comes out when it is combined with the matching intake duct, which is a separate purchase. If you want the complete setup, plan for both parts, and ask Bulletproof Automotive about the duct before ordering.

Which Civic is the Tsuchinoko Intake Chamber for EG6 designed for?

The Tsuchinoko Intake Chamber for EG6 cars is designed for the Japanese-market EG6 Civic SiR with the B16A engine and may not fit a US-market EG Civic. If your US car has a B16A swap, confirm the details of your engine bay with Bulletproof Automotive first.

How much power does it add?

The manufacturer reports up to about 10 PS on the B16A, along with improved torque, from low and middle engine speeds up to high revs. That is a peak figure from the maker, and the gain on a particular car depends on its condition, tuning and whether the intake duct is fitted.

Should I choose carbon or FRP?

Both versions share the same chamber shape and design. Carbon is the CFRP option and carries the higher price, and the product photos show the carbon version. FRP is the more affordable fiberglass choice. Pick on budget and the finish you want in the engine bay rather than any performance difference.

Does it only help at high rpm?

No. The manufacturer reports that the intake effect starts at low and middle engine speeds and carries on into the high rev range, and that torque improves as well as peak power. That broad spread suits a B16A on the street as much as on track, where the engine spends time well below the limiter.

Description

J’s Racing Tsuchinoko Intake Chamber for EG6 Honda Civic

J’s Racing’s Tsuchinoko Intake Chamber for EG6 Civic SiR engines is one of the Osaka tuner’s signature intake parts. J’s Racing, which has specialized in Hondas since 1989, says the design still delivers the best performance of any intake upgrade it makes. By its own figures the chamber adds up to about 10 PS on the B16A and also improves torque, with gains reaching from low and middle engine speeds to high revs. It suits an EG6 owner already working on the intake side; on a stock car without the matching duct it gives only part of its potential.

Design and Performance

The chamber’s unique internal shape is the reason it works. J’s Racing reports improved intake efficiency across the rev range rather than only at the top end, and says the full 100 percent of the chamber’s performance comes out when it is used together with the company’s intake duct. The chamber is offered in two materials, carbon and FRP, and the product photos show the carbon version.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
