Do the fenders bolt on without modification?

No. Fitting requires drilling, and the manufacturer says every installation is matched to the individual car, so expect test fitting and adjustment. Paint is also not included, since the FRP fenders arrive in black gelcoat. A body shop that can fit, finish and paint them in one visit is the best route.

How much wider are the Front Wide Fenders for FD2?

The Front Wide Fenders for FD2 cars extend each side by approximately 20mm, roughly 40mm across the front of the car. That extra width lets you run a wider track or wider tires, which the manufacturer says improves cornering speed and traction. Choose wheel offset and tire width before fitting.

Will they fit a US-market Civic?

They are designed for the Japanese-market FD2 Civic Type R sedan, and the manufacturer warns they may not fit the US-market FG Civic. The fenders are matched to the FD2 factory bumper and body line. If you have an imported FD2 Type R, it is the intended car; otherwise ask Bulletproof Automotive first.

What does the fender duct do?

The duct at the rear of each fender lets air escape from the wheel well. The manufacturer says this pulls out the turbulence that builds up around the spinning wheel and helps reduce drag. It also gives the front of the car a more purposeful look, similar to the vents seen on high-end imported sports cars.

Do they work with the stock front bumper?

Yes. The manufacturer designed the fenders to match the factory bumper so the original body line is kept. That means you can widen the front without changing the bumper or losing the factory shape at the front. They are sold as a left and right pair.

Description

J’s Racing Front Wide Fenders for FD2 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s Front Wide Fenders for FD2 Civic Type R sedans add about 20mm of width per side, giving room for a wider front track or wider tires, which the Osaka tuner credits with higher cornering speed and more traction. They work with the factory bumper and follow the original body line, so the car looks wider without looking modified for its own sake. A duct at the trailing edge of each fender pulls turbulent air out of the wheel well to cut drag. They make sense on an FD2 moving to wider wheels and tires for the track; on a stock-wheeled car they are mostly a styling change.

Tips

Every fitting is matched to the individual car, and holes have to be drilled, so treat this as a body shop job rather than a driveway swap. Settle on the final wheel and tire size before the fenders are trimmed, painted and mounted.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
