Are canards included with the bumper?

No. The bumper comes with its dedicated under panel only. The Type-S twin canards are an optional extra sold separately for owners who want more front downforce, designed to mount on this bumper. Paint for the bumper body is also not included, so budget for body shop work before installation.

How do Version 1 and Version 2 differ?

Both use the same bumper approach with a dedicated under panel. Version 1 carries the Ver.1.0 front wing designated for Super Taikyu racing. Version 2 has an optimized wing shape that the manufacturer says produces stronger front downforce, and its under panel can be replaced as a separate repair part.

Is the whole Type-S Front Bumper for AP1 cars made of carbon?

No. On every version of the Type-S Front Bumper for AP1 and AP2 cars the bumper body is FRP in gelcoat and needs paint. The carbon option refers to the under panel, which is carbon FRP. The FRP option uses black gelcoat FRP for both bumper and under panel.

Can the under wing be damaged on the street?

Yes. The manufacturer warns that the front wing section makes large downforce and can break or split if it hits the road, in any type of driving. Owners driving at high speed must add their own reinforcement and fixing. Watch steep driveways and speed bumps with a lowered car.

Does it fit both the AP1 and AP2?

Yes. The bumper is listed for the AP1 and AP2 S2000 across all model years, covering the 1999 to 2003 cars with the F20C and the 2004 to 2009 cars with the F22C. It replaces the factory front bumper and works with the rest of the Type-S aero range.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Front Bumper for AP1 / AP2 Honda S2000

J’s Racing’s Type-S Front Bumper for AP1 and AP2 S2000s pairs an FRP bumper shell with a dedicated under panel shaped as a front wing, the arrangement J’s developed through Super Taikyu endurance racing. Version 1 is the series-designated Ver.1.0 wing; Version 2 reshapes the wing for more front downforce. J’s Racing USA describes the result as better stability at very high speed and a sharper turn-in. Choose the carbon option for an exposed carbon under panel, or all FRP for a fully painted nose. It rewards owners who drive on circuits; the low wing needs care on rough streets and steep driveways.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
