Do the Type-S Twin Canards for FD2 fit the factory bumper?

No. The Type-S Twin Canards for FD2 cars are an option made only for the Type-S front bumper from the same Osaka tuner, and they will not mount to the factory FD2 bumper. If the car still has its stock front end, the Type-S bumper is needed first and is listed separately.

What comes in the box?

A left and right pair of twin-element carbon FRP canards and a dedicated bolt set for mounting them to the Type-S bumper. The bumper itself is not included. Because the bolts are specific to this application, keep them together with the canards if you remove them between events.

How are twin canards different from single canards?

Each side carries two blades rather than one. The manufacturer says the twin design makes it possible to increase front downforce further compared with its single canard. That extra front load pairs well with a larger rear wing, and it is most useful on a car chasing lap times.

Will they fit a US-market Civic Si or sedan?

Not unless the car is an FD2 Civic Type R wearing the Type-S bumper. The canards are made for the Japanese-market FD2 sedan, and the manufacturer warns they may not fit the US-market FG Civic. If you are unsure what your car has, ask Bulletproof Automotive to confirm before ordering.

Are they suitable for street driving?

They will bolt on for any use, but the manufacturer intends them for time attack at the circuit, where speeds are high enough to make use of the added downforce. On the road they mainly change the look of the front end. They also sit at the corners of the bumper, so take care around curbs.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Twin Canards for FD2 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s Type-S Twin Canards for FD2 Civic Type R cars add a second element to each side of the Osaka tuner’s Type-S front bumper. Two stacked blades per side let the bumper generate more front downforce than J’s Racing’s single-blade canard, which matters when a rear wing has shifted the balance and the nose starts to wash wide. The canards are carbon FRP and come as a left and right set with dedicated bolts. J’s Racing aims them at circuit time attack. They fit only the Type-S bumper, so an FD2 still on the factory front end needs that bumper first, and a street car will rarely use the extra load.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
