Does the wing install without drilling?

No. The 3D GT-Wing 1300mm for GK5 cars mounts through two holes drilled in the upper hatch. Nothing is supplied for the high-mount stop lamp, so plan how it will be handled before the hatch is drilled. The manufacturer advises a professional installer and sealing any factory holes left unused.

Is the 3D GT-Wing 1300mm for GK5 suitable for street driving?

Yes. The manufacturer describes the angle range as covering any setting from the street to the circuit, and the wide 1300mm span suits a road car that also does track days. As with any large rear wing, the high-mount stop lamp should be checked so it remains clearly visible.

Should I choose the 980mm or the 1300mm wing?

The 980mm version is the Super Taikyu model, narrower and mounted very low to save drag in endurance racing. The 1300mm version is the wider general-purpose wing with a street to circuit setting range. Pick the 1300mm for a dual-use car and the 980mm for a dedicated circuit build.

What materials are used?

The wing body is wet carbon, with dry carbon stays holding the end plates and aluminum stays supporting the body. The manufacturer chose carbon to keep the weight added to the hatch as low as possible while giving the wing a high-quality appearance.

Will it fit a late-model GK5?

Yes. The manufacturer confirms that the 1300mm wing fits both the early and the late GK5. Installation is the same on either, with two holes drilled in the hatch and no parts supplied for the high-mount stop lamp, so a professional fitting is recommended.

Description

J’s Racing 3D GT-Wing 1300mm for GK5 Honda Fit

J’s Racing’s 3D GT-Wing 1300mm for GK5 Fits is the full-width version of the Osaka tuner’s 3D wing series, a range drawn up from a clean sheet for the third-generation Fit. At 1300mm across, it is the SPL model meant to cover everything from road driving to circuit days, with an angle that adjusts through eight positions. J’s Racing builds the wing body from wet carbon, using plenty of it so the added weight stays small and the finish looks right on the hatch. It suits a GK5 owner who wants one wing for street and track; drivers chasing the lowest drag for endurance-style racing should compare the narrower 980mm Super Taikyu model.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
