Does the 70RR need any separately sold parts?

Yes. One Type B reinforced muffler bush is required and is sold separately. The manufacturer does not itemize gaskets or fasteners, so confirm hardware with Bulletproof Automotive before the install. Unlike the 60RS, the 70RR has no inner silencer listed to lower its volume.

Will the R304 70RR Exhaust for FD2 fit a US-market Civic?

The R304 70RR Exhaust for FD2 cars is designed only for the Japanese-market FD2 Civic Type R sedan, and the manufacturer warns that it may not fit the US-market FG Civic. Imported FD2 Type R cars are the intended application, and any other Civic should be checked with Bulletproof Automotive.

How much bigger is the pipe than stock?

The main pipe grows from the factory 54mm to 70mm. Combined with a layout that starts further forward than the RS models, that is how the manufacturer brings exhaust resistance down to a minimum and achieves what it calls a remarkable power increase. No dyno figure is published.

Should I choose this or the FX-PRO 70RR?

Both use a 70mm main pipe and share the same power-first approach. The FX-PRO is full titanium and weighs 5.6kg, while this R304 version uses SUS304 stainless with a titanium tail and costs far less. Choose the FX-PRO for minimum weight or the R304 for value.

What does it sound like?

The manufacturer describes the clear, high tone typical of stainless steel when the engine is revved out, sharpening on track, with a distinct bark the moment VTEC changes over to the high cam. No sound level is published, and it is the loudest of the R304 versions for the FD2.

Description

J’s Racing R304 70RR Exhaust for FD2 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s R304 70RR Exhaust for FD2 Civic Type R race cars, the SUS Exhaust Plus 70RR in Japan, is the stainless system the Osaka tuner shaped around circuit use. It opens the main pipe from the factory 54mm to 70mm and starts further forward in the exhaust than the RS models, chasing output and throttle response before anything else. J’s Racing describes the power gain as remarkable. The construction matches the rest of the R304 family: SUS304 stainless with hand TIG welds and a titanium cut-bend dolphin tail. It belongs on a dedicated track FD2; a road car will be better served by the 60RS.

Design and Performance

Ultra-thin flanges and thin-wall SUS304, 1.2mm for the main pipe and 1.0mm for the silencer shell, keep weight down to help the car change direction. At high rpm the stainless gives a clear, rising tone, and as VTEC moves onto the high cam the note snaps sharply, which J’s Racing says adds to the sense of speed on a circuit.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
