Do I need the Front Brake Rotor for EG6 to fit the Twin-Block caliper?

Yes. Spoon describes the Front Brake Rotor for EG6 as the conversion rotor required when its Twin-Block caliper is fitted to the EG6, the EK4, the early DC2 and DB8 and the GE8 and GK5 Fit. Spoon states that any car with a factory front rotor of 282 mm or smaller needs it.

How many rotors come with one order?

One. Spoon and Go Tuning both price the rotor per piece, and Spoon notes that a complete car needs two. Order a quantity of two to cover both front corners, alongside the Twin-Block caliper set, so the job can be done in one visit to the shop.

Can I run this rotor with the factory caliper?

No. Spoon sells it only as the conversion rotor for the Twin-Block caliper and does not register it for use with the factory caliper. Owners who simply need a replacement disc for a stock brake should order a factory-size rotor rather than this part.

Does it fit a 1998 or later DC2 Integra Type R?

No. Spoon registers this rotor for the DC2 and DB8 built from late 1995 to the end of 1997 only. For the 1998-on Type R, Spoon describes the Twin-Block caliper as a bolt-on fit and sells a separate slotted front rotor for those cars.

What else does a Civic SiR or Fit need for the conversion?

Besides two of these rotors and the Twin-Block caliper set, the EG6, EK4, GE8 and GK5 need the Spoon inner spacer set, a 3 mm spacer for 4 x 100 hubs. Brake pads come separately as well, and the caliper uses the EK9 front pad shape.

Description

Spoon Sports Front Brake Rotor for EG6 / EK4 Honda Civic, DC2 / DB8 Integra and GE8 / GK5 Fit

The Spoon Sports Front Brake Rotor for EG6 and EK4 Civic, the 1995 to 1997 DC2 and DB8 Integra Type R, and the GE8 and GK5 Fit is the conversion disc these cars need before the Spoon Twin-Block caliper will go on. Their factory front rotors are too small for the opposed caliper, and Spoon sets the dividing line at a factory rotor of 282 mm or less. Go Tuning describes the part as a 15 in front rotor for four-lug hubs in both 4 x 100 and 4 x 114.3 patterns, and Spoon lists it at 6 kg per disc. The rotor is sold one at a time, so a car takes two. There is no reason to buy it on its own as a factory replacement; it belongs in the same order as the Twin-Block set, and on the Civic SiR and Fit models the Spoon inner spacer set goes in that order too. For an owner building a light, quick-reacting front brake on one of these small Hondas, it is the first piece of the puzzle.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
