Will the EG6 hatchback silencer fit the EG9 sedan?

No. Spoon does not register the EG6 hatchback silencer for the Ferio and gives the EG9 its own Street and N1 part numbers. Buy the version made for the Ferio, which Spoon registers for the E-EG9 sedan with the B16A engine and 5-speed manual gearbox.

Which Tail Silencer for EG9 is lighter?

The N1 Type. Spoon lists it at 5.4 kg against 9.7 kg for the Street Type, so choosing the N1 version of the Tail Silencer for EG9 takes 4.3 kg off the rear of the car compared with the Street option. Spoon gives no weight for the factory Ferio muffler, so no saving over stock is claimed.

Which version suits a sedan used every day?

The Street Type is the natural fit for regular driving. Spoon tuned it for torque and a smooth, mature tone on a 50 mm main pipe, so it adds character without wearing on passengers. The N1 Type, with its 60 mm pipe and racing voice, rewards an owner who drives the Ferio hard and enjoys hearing it.

Is the factory mid pipe reused?

Yes. Both versions bolt to the production mid pipe through a flange built to the factory standard, so only the rear muffler is replaced. The front sections stay as they are, and the original muffler can be stored and refitted, which matters on a well kept Ferio that may one day go back to stock.

Does Spoon offer a sub silencer for the EG9 N1 Type?

Spoon does not name one. On several other Hondas Spoon lists sub silencer SPP-18030-000 for the N1 Type, but the EG9 record carries no such note, so BA does not suggest one for the Ferio. The N1 Type is designed to run on its own, bolted to the production mid pipe.

Description

Spoon Sports Tail Silencer for EG9 Honda Civic Ferio

The Spoon Sports Tail Silencer for EG9 Civic Ferio SiR is a rear muffler for the four-door B16A sedan, a car that shares its engine with the EG6 hatch but gets its own Spoon part numbers. The Street Type runs a 50 mm main pipe and leans toward torque and a cultured, quiet-mannered tone; Spoon lists it at 9.7 kg. The N1 Type uses a 60 mm main pipe, sounds closer to a race car and is listed at 5.4 kg. Both are designed to keep exhaust flow and gas speed high, and both meet the production mid pipe at a flange made to the factory standard. Clean Ferio SiR sedans are scarce, so a bolt-on silencer that leaves the original joints untouched suits an owner protecting a good example; the N1 Type is for the owner who would rather hear the B16A work.

Features

Street Type on a 50 mm main pipe, tuned for low and mid-range torque
N1 Type on a 60 mm main pipe, tuned for a racing voice
N1 Type listed at 5.4 kg against 9.7 kg for the Street Type
Factory-standard flange joins the production mid pipe
Ample flow volume and gas velocity in both versions

Applications

Honda Civic Ferio SiR: EG9 | 1991-1995 | 1.6L B16A

Notes

The EG9 Civic Ferio SiR is a four-door sedan from the Japanese market
The Tail Silencer for EG9 is the rear muffler only, sold as one piece
Spoon does not publish an outlet diameter for either EG9 version

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
