Does the Boss and Paddle Set include a steering wheel?

No. The set contains the steering boss, the switch bracket, the paddle shifters and an airbag canceller, and the steering wheel is bought separately. The Spoon steering wheel, built for Spoon by MOMO with red stitching and a thick grip, is the obvious partner for a Prelude fitted with this set.

Will the Prelude keep its paddle shifters?

Yes. Spoon supplies paddle shifters as part of the Boss and Paddle Set for the BF1, alongside the bracket that carries the factory wheel switches. That is the difference from the switch bracket sets Spoon makes for the Civic, which have no paddles because those cars are manual.

Which Prelude does it fit?

It fits the sixth-generation BF1 Prelude with the e:HEV hybrid powertrain, which Spoon registers from its Japanese launch in September 2025. Go Tuning, the sole US distributor for Spoon, lists it for the 2026 model year US Prelude. Earlier Prelude generations are not covered by this set.

What happens to the airbag warning light?

Spoon includes an airbag canceller in the set, which keeps the warning light from coming on once the factory airbag wheel is removed. The driver airbag is no longer in place with a sports wheel fitted, which every owner should weigh before ordering.

Is professional installation recommended?

Yes. Fitting the set means removing the airbag wheel, mounting the boss, transferring the switches and connecting the paddles and canceller on a brand-new car with complex electronics. BA recommends a shop that is familiar with current Honda SRS and steering electronics for the work.

Description

Spoon Sports Boss and Paddle Set for BF1 Honda Prelude

The Spoon Sports Boss and Paddle Set for BF1 Honda Prelude lets the sixth-generation hybrid coupe take a sports steering wheel without giving up its wheel-mounted switches or its shift paddles. Spoon built its switch bracket range after noting that modern Hondas carry radar cruise and settings buttons on the wheel, which made a wheel swap a harder decision than it used to be. For the Prelude it goes a step further: the set combines the steering boss, a bracket that relocates the factory switches and a pair of paddle shifters, with an airbag canceller included. Spoon registers it for the 6AA-BF1 e:HEV Prelude from its Japanese launch in September 2025, and Go Tuning lists it for the 2026 model year in the US. It suits an owner committed to a sports wheel on a new car and willing to pay for keeping every factory control; anyone content with the original wheel has no reason to change it.

About Spoon Sports

Spoon Sports was founded in 1988 in Suginami, Tokyo, by Tatsuru Ichishima, a former Honda race car tester and driver, with backing from Honda and Mugen. The company has raced Hondas from its first season, when Ichishima’s own Civic became the first Civic to enter the Japan Touring Car Championship, and its Type One workshop, opened in 2001, services and tunes the cars its parts are developed on. Spoon builds engine, drivetrain, exhaust, chassis and aero parts for Honda models and proves them on circuits and in endurance racing, including the 25 Hours of Thunderhill.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
