What does the Reclining Seat Rail for FN2 mount?

It mounts the Spoon reclining bucket seat, part ALL-81200-001, which BA sells separately. Spoon lists the FN2 rail in that seat catalogue entry under its own part numbers, 81250-FN2-L00 and R00, so it is a chassis-specific mount rather than a universal frame for other seats.

Which FN2 production years does Spoon list?

Spoon registers the ABA-FN2 Civic Type R Euro from November 2009 to September 2010 and from October 2010 to June 2012, both with the K20A and 6-speed manual. Go Tuning sells the rail for FN2 Civic models from 2007 to 2011, the span of the hatchback in Europe.

Can this rail be used for the carbon bucket seat?

Yes, once the Spoon side bracket for the carbon bucket seat is added. Go Tuning states that the Reclining Seat Rail for FN2 can be reconfigured with that bracket, which is a separate purchase. The rail itself is built for the reclining seat, so it is the starting point either way.

Yes, for one seat. Each option is the rail for a single seat position at a listed 8.5 kg, and Spoon offers Left and Right separately. An FN2 receiving Spoon seats on both sides needs one of each, while a car that keeps the factory passenger seat needs only one.

Why choose the reclining seat over a fixed bucket for an FN2?

The reclining seat suits an FN2 that covers road miles. Spoon developed it for drivers who want bucket support without the strain a fixed race seat brings on the street, with an adjustable backrest, shoulder support that keeps the eye line steady and the breathable fabric from the Spoon carbon seat.

Description

Spoon Sports Reclining Seat Rail for FN2 Honda Civic Type R

Spoon Sports’ Reclining Seat Rail for FN2 Civic Type R carries the Spoon reclining bucket seat in the Civic Type R Euro, the European-built K20A hatchback that Honda sold in Japan from late 2009 to mid 2012. Spoon registers both ABA-FN2 series, November 2009 to September 2010 and October 2010 to June 2012, each with the 6-speed manual. The seat is the practical half of Spoon’s seat range: it reclines, it is trimmed in the breathable fabric of Spoon’s carbon seat, and its shape steadies the shoulders and the eye line while the hips read the chassis. That makes it a fitting choice for an FN2 that covers real road miles between track days. A rail is listed at 8.5 kg and covers one seat position. Go Tuning states it can be reconfigured with Spoon’s side bracket for the carbon bucket seat, which leaves room to change seats later.

About Spoon Sports

Spoon Sports was founded in 1988 in Suginami, Tokyo, by Tatsuru Ichishima, a former Honda race car tester and driver, with backing from Honda and Mugen. The company has raced Hondas from its first season, when Ichishima’s own Civic became the first Civic to enter the Japan Touring Car Championship, and its Type One workshop, opened in 2001, services and tunes the cars its parts are developed on. Spoon builds engine, drivetrain, exhaust, chassis and aero parts for Honda models and proves them on circuits and in endurance racing, including the 25 Hours of Thunderhill.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
