What else do I need with the Carbon Seat Rail for FK7?

The Spoon carbon bucket seat, part ALL-81100-001, which is sold separately. This rail exists only to mount that seat, and Spoon lists it as the matching FK7 and FK8 rail in the seat catalogue entry. Two seats need two rails, one Left and one Right, because each option covers a single seat position.

Does one order cover both front seats?

No. Each option is the rail for one seat position, listed by Spoon at 9 kg. A track FK8 that keeps the factory passenger seat needs only the side the Spoon seat goes on, while a car with two Spoon carbon seats needs a Left rail and a Right rail.

Will the rail fit the FK8 Type R as well as the FK7 hatchback?

Yes. Spoon registers the same rail for the FK7 Civic hatchback with either the 6-speed manual or the CVT and for the FK8 Civic Type R, both from the 2017 launch. The Carbon Seat Rail for FK7 is therefore one part number per side across both bodies.

Can I use this rail with a seat from another brand?

No. Spoon describes it as the seat rail for its own carbon bucket seat, and nothing in the Spoon or Go Tuning listings suggests it accepts another shell. Owners fitting a different bucket seat should use the rail or side mounts that seat maker specifies for the FK7 or FK8.

Will removing the factory seat set off an airbag warning?

It can on some models. Spoon advises that, depending on the vehicle, an optional side airbag canceller is required, listed as part SPP-81200-020 or SPP-81200-022. Check with BA which applies to your Civic before the factory seat comes out, so the car is not left showing a warning light.

Description

Spoon Sports Carbon Seat Rail for FK7 / FK8 Honda Civic

The Spoon Sports Carbon Seat Rail for FK7 / FK8 Honda Civic is the chassis-specific mount for Spoon’s carbon bucket seat, part ALL-81100-001, in the tenth-generation Civic hatchback and Type R. Spoon does not treat seat mounting as an afterthought: it catalogues a separate rail for each chassis it supports, and names this one in the seat’s own listing as the FK7 and FK8 match. The seat it carries is a Carbon Kevlar shell that Spoon quotes at 5.9 kg, shaped to hold a driver under the cornering loads of a circuit day. Each rail is listed at 9 kg and covers one seat position. For an FK8 being built for time attack or regular track use with the Spoon seat, this is the correct, purpose-made part; for anyone keeping the factory seats, it has no use at all.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
