Does the Head Cover for GK5 fit a US Honda Fit?

Yes. The US Fit from 2015 to 2020 is the GK5 with the 1.5L L15B, and Go Tuning, the sole US distributor for Spoon, sells the Head Cover for GK5 for those model years. It suits manual and CVT versions alike, since the cover sits on the engine rather than relating to the gearbox.

Does it fit the hybrid Fit and the Vezel?

Yes. Spoon registers the same cover for the GP5 and GP6 Fit Hybrid and for the RU1 to RU4 Vezel, gasoline and hybrid, from late 2013 onward. Those models were sold in Japan rather than the US, and Spoon names them under their Japanese model names in its fitment data.

What makes the yellow version different?

Spoon first painted its yellow head covers only for engines it had built, so the color marked a genuine Spoon engine. Demand from owners led Spoon to sell the cover by itself. The red option is the alternative for owners who prefer the Type R look, matched by Spoon in color and texture.

Is a gasket included?

Yes. Go Tuning, which distributes Spoon in the US, states that factory gaskets come with the GK5 cover, while Spoon Japan leaves the contents unstated, so BA relies on the distributor here. Fresh seals are normal practice for this job and keep the swap from introducing an oil weep further down the road.

How difficult is fitting?

It is a basic job. The ignition coils come out, the factory cover is unbolted and lifted off, and the Spoon cover goes on with the gasket, tightened evenly to the Honda torque figure. Work with a cold engine to protect the gasket and threads, and keep the engine bay clean while the head is open.

Description

Spoon Sports Head Cover for GK5 / GK6 / GP5 / GP6 Honda Fit and RU1 / RU2 / RU3 / RU4 Vezel

Spoon Sports’ Head Cover for GK5 / GK6 Fit, GP5 / GP6 Fit Hybrid and RU-series Vezel puts a Spoon finish on one of the most widely shared engine covers in the small Honda range. Spoon registers it across the third-generation Fit, both the 1.5L L15B gasoline versions and the LEB hybrids, and across the first Vezel in gasoline and hybrid form. The yellow option began life as a cover Spoon painted only for engines it had built, and it is now sold alone because owners kept asking; the red option matches the color and texture Honda uses on its Type R covers. Listed at 2 kg, it fits like the part it replaces. It is the easiest way to make a Fit RS look at home among Spoon-built Hondas, and it suits a Vezel owner who wants some sporting flavor without touching the ride.

About Spoon Sports

Spoon Sports was founded in 1988 in Suginami, Tokyo, by Tatsuru Ichishima, a former Honda race car tester and driver, with backing from Honda and Mugen. The company has raced Hondas from its first season, when Ichishima’s own Civic became the first Civic to enter the Japan Touring Car Championship, and its Type One workshop, opened in 2001, services and tunes the cars its parts are developed on. Spoon builds engine, drivetrain, exhaust, chassis and aero parts for Honda models and proves them on circuits and in endurance racing, including the 25 Hours of Thunderhill.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
