The Spoon Sports 4in2 Exhaust Manifold for FD2 Honda Civic Type R suits the four-door Type R that Honda sold in Japan from 2007 to 2010 and never offered in the US. The manifold merges four primaries into two and hands the gas to the factory 2in1 section, a pairing Spoon arrived at through testing. Its logic is that naturally aspirated Hondas are light on low-speed torque, so the 4-2-1 layout keeps the lower and middle range strong, and the production 2in1 is too good to throw away on a street car. Where it meets the head, each pipe is inserted into the flange so there is no step at the port, and the joints are TIG welded. A lighter part also takes weight from the nose. This is the manifold for an FD2 that drives on the road and visits the circuit; the separate Spoon 2in1 is for cars that run near the redline all day.
