RYFT’s roof scoop for McLaren 720S Coupe cars adds a feature with deep roots at McLaren. The P1, which RYFT names as its design reference, carried a snorkel air intake on its roof that McLaren said was inspired by the McLaren F1 road car, and McLaren itself fitted a gloss black roof scoop to the 720S Le Mans edition of 2020, built in a run of 50 cars. This RYFT piece brings that silhouette to an ordinary Coupe, and it changes the side profile of the car more than any trim piece.

Design

On the Coupe the roof sits on the carbon Monocage II upper structure, and McLaren offered a visual carbon roof as part of Exterior Carbon Fibre Pack 3. RYFT’s scoop sits on top in 2×2 twill and is drawn with the sharper curves of the rest of the program, so on a car with the carbon roof option the two weaves sit side by side. It is a Coupe only part, because the Spider replaces the fixed roof with a one-piece retractable hardtop.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
