The Nitron 5F León Cupra NTR-R3 Coilover Kit is for Cupra and Cupra R owners who arrive at corners fast and want the dampers to manage everything that happens between the end of the straight and the apex. Heavy braking over a bumpy surface is where a factory-style damper runs out of answers, and the Nitron Cupra NTR-R3 gives each corner four independent adjustments, high speed and low speed for both compression and rebound, so you can control how the car dives and settles separately from how it handles the bumps on the way. Hose-connected reservoirs are used at the front and piggyback reservoirs at the rear, adjustable spring perches set ride height and corner weights, and the kit comes with a choice of coilover or divorced rear suspension. For a León that is driven hard enough to need it, the Cupra NTR-R3 is the most tunable way to set up the car.

Specialized Bi-Axis Hose Fittings

The front dampers connect to their remote reservoirs by hose, so the angle at which each hose leaves the damper is important. Nitron fits Bi-Axis connectors that rotate 720 degrees on two axes, which lets you turn each hose toward its reservoir before you secure it. That gives the line a short, natural route with no tight bends and no tension on the fitting, and it keeps the hose from being strained as the front suspension moves. The rear needs none of this, because the piggyback reservoirs sit directly on the dampers.

Unique Technology

Braking is where the NTR-R3’s four adjustments earn their keep. Low speed compression and rebound manage how the nose dives as you brake and how quickly it settles again, and they also shape how the car leans, squats, and rotates. High speed compression and rebound manage the sharp hits, such as a bump or a ridge in the braking zone, so the tires stay in contact with the road. Because the four settings are independent, you can work on the way the car dives without touching how it takes a bump. The dampers are passive nitrogen-pressurized monotubes with remote reservoirs, hand assembled to order in the UK and supplied with race springs. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule.
