What is different about the GiroDisc Dimpled Slotted 390mm Front Rotors?

The GiroDisc Dimpled Slotted 390mm Front Rotors add a dimpled pattern to the slotted friction face of the standard A1-123 rotor. The hat, the 390mm size, the curved vanes and the 12-pin floating mount are the same, so the choice comes down to the face finish.

Does GiroDisc recommend drilled rotors instead?

No. GiroDisc does not recommend cross-drilled discs for performance driving because the holes can start cracks under repeated heat. Dimples are shallow and do not pass through the ring, and the slots keep the friction surface clean and clear water from it.

Which rings fit the dimpled C63 Black Series hats?

GiroDisc sells D1-123DS as the dimpled and slotted 390mm front ring, supplied in pairs with new mounting hardware. Ordering that part when the iron wears keeps the dimpled face on both sides of the car, and the aluminum hats carry over from the original assemblies.

Will the brake bias change with these rotors?

No. They are a direct replacement for the factory front disc at the same size and use the original calipers. That keeps the front to rear balance and the ABS calibration exactly as the car left the factory, unlike a big brake kit.

How should the dimpled rotors be installed?

Fit each rotor to the corner marked on it, since the curved vanes are handed. Bolt the assembly to the hub, refit the caliper to the factory torque and then complete a bed-in procedure before using the brakes hard. Keep the cap screws at 60 in-lb or less.

Description

GiroDisc Dimpled Slotted 390mm Front Rotors for Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series

GiroDisc’s Dimpled Slotted 390mm Front Rotors for the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series take the same two-piece floating design as the standard part and add a dimpled pattern across the slotted face. The look suits a car that is as much about presence as pace, and the construction underneath is unchanged: an aluminum hat, a cast iron ring with curved vanes and 12 drive pins per corner. Choose this version if the appearance matters to you as much as the cooling.

Bolt-On and Go

The rotors are a direct replacement for the factory discs and keep the original calipers, so the brake bias and ABS efficiency are retained. Spring washers on the drive pins let the ring grow with heat without the cold rattle of older floating rotors, and the cap screws are never tightened past 60 in-lb.

Features

Dimpled and slotted 390mm friction face
Two-piece fully floating construction
12 cadmium-plated alloy steel drive pins
6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum hat, US-sourced

Applications

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series: 6.2L V8

Notes

The Dimpled Slotted 390mm Front Rotors use their own dimpled rings, the GiroDisc dimpled and slotted 390mm front rings

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
