What is the difference between the Matte Carbon Fiber Dress-Up Kit and the gloss version?

The finish. The Matte Carbon Fiber Dress-Up Kit puts a matte coat on the solid carbon engine cover and fuse covers, while the gloss kit uses a high shine coat. Weave, Redline badging, hardware and VB WRX fitment are the same for both.

Which Subaru WRX models does this kit fit?

COBB confirms the VB WRX sedan from 2022 through 2026 in the US market, manual or CVT, including the 2024 WRX TR. Australian WRX sedans and the WRX Sportswagon for those years are covered too. It does not fit the earlier VA WRX or the WRX STI.

Do I need an Accessport or tune to install it?

No. The kit is purely cosmetic and changes nothing the engine computer controls, so no Accessport, map or custom tune is required. COBB classifies it as a part not related to emissions that can be used on emission controlled vehicles.

Does the engine cover work with a non-COBB front mount intercooler?

Possibly not. COBB says the Redline engine cover may not be compatible with front mount intercooler kits made by other companies, since their piping can take the space the cover needs. It suits the factory layout and the COBB front mount. Confirm clearance with your intercooler maker before ordering.

Is the intake grill scoop included with the Matte Carbon Fiber Dress-Up Kit?

No. The Redline Power or Intake Grill Scoop is a separate product. The Matte Carbon Fiber Dress-Up Kit ships with the engine cover, its brackets and hardware, the fender shrouds with trim rings and edge trim, and both fuse covers.

Description

COBB Tuning Redline Matte Carbon Fiber Dress-Up Kit for VB Subaru WRX

COBB Tuning’s Redline Matte Carbon Fiber Dress-Up Kit is the low-sheen alternative to the gloss set, for VB WRX owners who prefer carbon that reads as texture rather than reflection. The engine cover, both fender shrouds and the fuse box lids for each side arrive together. Cover and fuse lids are solid 2×2 twill carbon with a matte finish coat and Redline badging. On a stock bay it looks smart; beside a COBB intake or intercooler it makes the most sense. One caution: the cover is not guaranteed to fit with other brands of front mount intercooler.

Materials and Mounting

The fender shrouds are formed from hand-laid twill sheets under a protective clear coat, so each Matte Carbon Fiber Dress-Up Kit is slightly individual and COBB calls minor weave variances normal. Satin black powder coated brackets carry the engine cover, nylon washers keep the bolts off the carbon, and black anodized trim rings with edge trim seal the shrouds against the hood.

Features

Four matching Redline carbon pieces for the VB engine bay
Solid carbon engine cover and fuse covers in a matte finish coat
Redline badge on the engine cover and both fuse covers
Black button-head hardware for the engine cover brackets
Fuse covers fit with double sided adhesive, with no drilling

What’s Included

Redline Matte Carbon Fiber Engine Cover with brackets, hardware and nylon washers (446610-RMC)
Redline Matte Carbon Fender Shrouds with hood stop trim rings and edge trim (746170-RMC)
Redline Matte Carbon Fiber Fuse Cover, Driver Side (846665-Driver-RMC)
Redline Matte Carbon Fiber Fuse Cover, Passenger Side (846665-Pass-RMC)

Applications

Subaru WRX: VB | 2022-present | Sedan, manual or CVT, including the 2024 WRX TR
Subaru WRX Sportswagon: 2022-present | CVT | Australian market (ADM) only

Notes

The Redline Power or Intake Grill Scoop is not part of this kit
COBB warns the engine cover may not be compatible with front mount intercooler kits from other manufacturers
Each carbon part is laid by hand, so minor imperfections or weave variances are normal
This is not an emissions-related part and can be used on emission controlled vehicles

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
