Which trucks does the Front Mount Intercooler in Silver fit?

COBB confirms the Front Mount Intercooler in Silver for USDM F-150 3.5L EcoBoost and Raptor trucks from 2017 to 2026, the Tremor from 2021, the Limited for 2019-2020 and the 2.7L EcoBoost from 2018 to 2023. The 2018-2020 Ford Expedition is also listed.

Is an Accessport required to run this intercooler?

No. COBB does not state that tuning is needed, and the part is compatible with the Accessport off-the-shelf maps for these trucks. The Accessport is a separate purchase. The cooler also fits and works on a truck with the factory calibration.

Is the silver intercooler CARB approved?

Yes. It carries CARB Executive Order numbers D-660-19, D-660-49, D-660-81, D-660-131, D-660-141, D-660-208 and D-660-263. That makes it legal for sale and use on emission-controlled trucks in all 50 states, California included, provided it is installed according to the COBB application guide for the vehicle.

How hard is the installation?

COBB designed it for the factory mounting position, and it requires no cutting, trimming or permanent modification. It seals against the stock shutter shroud just as the original does. COBB does not publish an install difficulty rating, so consider a qualified shop if you are unsure.

Should I choose silver or black?

It comes down to looks. Both finishes use the same TIG welded cast aluminum body, the same enlarged core, the same CARB approval and the same list of trucks. Silver shows raw aluminum behind the grille, while the black version, part 7F1527-BK, is more discreet.

Description

COBB Tuning Factory Location Front Mount Intercooler in Silver for P552 / P702 Ford F-150 and Expedition

COBB Tuning’s Front Mount Intercooler in Silver is a direct swap for the stock charge air cooler on 2017-present EcoBoost F-150 pickups, including Raptor and Tremor, and on the 2018-2020 Expedition. Its bare silver casting holds a core COBB describes as about 70 percent larger in volume, with 10 percent more surface for shedding heat, yet it bolts up where Ford put the original. Seven CARB Executive Orders keep it street legal everywhere in the country. Anyone adding an Accessport map or a trailer will notice the difference. Owners prepared to trim for the largest core should choose the relocated kit.

How It Is Built

Flow modelling guided the end tank shape on the Front Mount Intercooler in Silver for even distribution across the core, and a wide exit chamfer smooths the handoff to the throttle body tube. The TIG welded body fits tightly to the factory shutter shroud, keeping outside air moving through the fins. Two flat pads in the casting accept a future water or methanol injection nozzle and drain.

Features

Silver cast aluminum construction with TIG welded seams
Roughly 70 percent more core volume than the original intercooler
10 percent added cooling surface area over stock
Seals to the factory shutter shroud so air still passes through the fins
Bolts into the stock location with no trimming or permanent changes
Provision for a water or methanol injection nozzle and drain
Runs on Accessport off-the-shelf maps

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
