COBB Tuning’s Intercooler for S550 Ford Mustang EcoBoost replaces the factory front mount cooler with a larger core, cast aluminum end tanks and a 3 inch mandrel bent hard pipe to the throttle body, and it carries CARB Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states. Its real purpose is to support an Accessport Stage 2 map; owners with no plans to tune will mostly see steadier intake temperatures rather than added power.

Design and Performance

COBB used computational fluid dynamics during development to shape air diverting fins inside the end tanks that spread charge air across the full face of the larger core. More of the core does useful work, which slows the heatsoak COBB identified in the factory cooler. The Intercooler for S550 Ford Mustang EcoBoost fits without modifying the vehicle and keeps the factory MAP sensor.

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule.
