Does the COBB Black Intercooler for Ford Bronco Raptor models also fit the Ranger Raptor?

Yes. COBB confirms it for USDM 2022 to 2026 Bronco Raptor and 2024 to 2026 Ranger Raptor trucks with the automatic transmission, both powered by the 3.0L EcoBoost V6. It sits in the factory front mount location on either truck, so one part number covers both nameplates.

Is this intercooler legal in California?

Yes, for 2022 to 2025 model year trucks. COBB lists CARB Executive Order numbers D-660-206 and D-660-291, making it legal on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states when installed per the application guide. For 2026 models, COBB says it is not for sale in California at this time.

Does the intercooler come with an Accessport or a tune?

No. This listing is the intercooler on its own. COBB sells the Accessport V3 for these trucks separately and also bundles this intercooler with it in a Stage 2 Power Package. The extra core volume matters most once a tune adds boost and heat.

Is any cutting or trimming needed to install it?

No. COBB built it as a direct replacement for the factory front mount intercooler, and it mates to the OEM shutter shroud without cutting, trimming or permanent changes. Air still flows through the ambient side fins as before, and the stock unit can go back in later.

What is the difference between the black and silver versions?

Only the finish. The Black Intercooler for Ford Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor trucks shares its end tanks, welded construction, larger core, fitment and CARB EO numbers with the silver version under the 7R1550 base part number. Black suits a low-key look; silver shows the metal.

Description

COBB Tuning Factory Location Black Intercooler for Ford Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor

COBB Tuning’s Black Intercooler for Ford Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor trucks replaces the factory front mount unit in its original position with a billet aluminum, TIG welded assembly whose core carries 53% more volume than stock. The 3.0L EcoBoost V6 breathes through an undersized factory intercooler that heat soaks quickly, and power falls away as it does. COBB rates this core at 23% greater cooling efficiency. It earns its keep on a tuned truck that sees repeated hard runs; on a stock truck driven gently, treat it as insurance for consistency rather than a power adder. The black finish stays discreet behind the grille.

Design and Fitment

COBB designed the Black Intercooler for Ford Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor owners in house, shaping the end tanks with computational fluid dynamics analysis for even flow and giving the outlet a generous chamfer so charge air enters the throttle body tube smoothly. It mates snugly to the OEM shutter shroud, so air still passes through the ambient side fins as Ford intended, and nothing on the truck is cut, trimmed or permanently altered.

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
