Does the Power Package for 2018-2021 VA WRX models carry a CARB Executive Order?

No. COBB lists this package as not legal for sale or use in California on any emission controlled motor vehicle while CARB testing is pending. In other states, SEMA Garage Emissions Certification SC-COB01-0106 supports on-street sale where the EPA Anti-Tampering Policy is accepted.

Can I install this package on a 2016 WRX?

No. COBB states that the 2018-2021 CAN Gateway kit is not compatible with 2015-2017 WRX models, which use a different wiring harness. The early VA sedan needs SUB0041W1-1FF, with the same Accessport V3 and fuel pressure sensor kit and a gateway wired for those years.

Is a separate flex fuel tune required?

No. The included Accessport V3 flashes COBB Off The Shelf maps, and the CAN Gateway feeds the ethanol reading to the ECU for an Off The Shelf flex fuel map or a custom calibration. A COBB Protuner custom tune earns its cost once the car carries further hardware.

What is included in the Power Package for 2018-2021 VA sedans?

The Power Package for 2018-2021 VA sedans brings the Subaru Accessport V3, the 2018-2021 CAN Flex Fuel Upgrade with gateway module, bracket, harness and ethanol sensor kit, and the CAN Fuel Pressure Sensor Kit. An intake, intercooler, fuel pump and injectors are separate purchases.

Does it work with the CVT automatic WRX?

No. The confirmed applications cover only the 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 USDM WRX sedan with the six-speed manual gearbox. Neither the CVT WRX nor the WRX STI is listed. We are happy to check fitment against your VIN before you order.

Description

COBB Tuning Stage 1 CAN Flex Fuel Power Package for 2018-2021 VA Subaru WRX 6MT

COBB Tuning’s Stage 1 CAN Flex Fuel Power Package for 2018-2021 VA Subaru WRX 6MT sedans is the later-car counterpart to the early VA kit, built around the 2018-2021 CAN Gateway kit (344650) and its matching wiring. Alongside it come a Subaru Accessport V3 and the CAN Fuel Pressure Sensor Kit (344750). On the FA20DIT, the Accessport loads COBB Off The Shelf calibrations in place of the factory map, while the gateway passes the live ethanol percentage to the ECU so fueling and timing can track whatever blend went in. Buy it when ethanol is part of the plan from day one; for a pump fuel flash alone, the Accessport by itself costs less.

Gateway and Sensor

Subaru never gave the 2018-2021 WRX ECU a way to read an aftermarket ethanol sensor. COBB routes the signal through its CAN Gateway, a billet aluminum housing around a precision manufactured circuit board, which writes the data onto the CAN network for the ECU. The gateway harness in this kit is specific to 2018-2021 cars, and the sensor plugs into the fuel system with quick connect fittings.

Features

Full color, higher resolution Accessport V3 screen with a customizable multi-gauge display
In-vehicle Accessport mount with its own on/off switch
CAN Gateway with a billet aluminum case and machined bolt-in bracket
Ethanol sensor kit with mounting bracket, quick connect fuel lines and gateway wiring

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
