Does the Silver Factory Location Intercooler Package require cutting?

No. The intercooler in the Silver Factory Location Intercooler Package mates snugly to the OEM shutter shroud, and COBB states that it needs no cutting, trimming or permanent modification. COBB also sells a larger front mount for this truck, but that unit asks for minor trimming on the back side of the grille.

How much more cooling does it provide than stock?

COBB quotes a core 70 percent greater than the factory intercooler and 10 percent more cooling surface area. The end tanks were shaped with computational fluid dynamics to spread flow evenly, and the chamfered outlet smooths the path into the throttle body tube, helping hold charge temperatures down on long climbs.

Can I add water or methanol injection later?

Yes. COBB cast two flat sections into the intercooler for that purpose. The upper flat can be drilled and tapped to accept an injection nozzle, while the lower flat can serve as a drain port. The injection kit itself is not included.

Is it legal for a 2023 Raptor in California?

No, not at this time. COBB states that 2021 and 2022 trucks are 50-state legal under CARB Executive Orders D-660-135 and D-660-245, while the 2023 model year is 49-state approved and not available for sale in California. COBB says it is working toward CARB approval for 2023.

Which transmission maps does the Accessport include?

The Accessport V3 with TCM flashing carries three transmission maps: Simulated Stock, OEM+ and Sport. They adjust shift points, shift firmness, skip shift behavior and torque limits. On the engine side the menu lists Stage 0, Stage 1, Stage 2 and Performance Tow, with tuned maps for 91 or 93 octane.

Description

COBB Tuning Stage 2 Silver Factory Location Intercooler Package (No Intake) for P702 Ford F-150 Raptor

COBB Tuning’s Silver Factory Location Intercooler Package is the least invasive way to reach Stage 2 on a 2021-2023 Raptor: an Accessport V3 with TCM flashing plus a silver intercooler that bolts into the stock position with no cutting, trimming or permanent change to the truck. COBB casts the unit in aluminum, TIG welds it, and quotes a core 70 percent larger than stock with 10 percent more cooling surface. It suits owners who expect to return the truck to stock; for the biggest core, look at the COBB front mount.

Construction

COBB shaped the end tanks with computational fluid dynamics so flow spreads evenly without significant turbulence. A chamfered outlet eases flow into the throttle body tube. Two flats in the casting allow for future water or methanol injection, the upper one ready to drill and tap for a nozzle and the lower one usable as a drain. Inside the Silver Factory Location Intercooler Package, that hardware runs alongside Stage 2 maps for 91 or 93 octane.

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
