Can a California GT-R use the Flex Fuel Redline Package NIS-007?

No. COBB states the Flex Fuel Redline Package NIS-007 is not legal for sale or use in California on any emission controlled motor vehicle, with CARB testing still pending. In states that accept the EPA Anti-Tampering Policy it is sold for street use under SEMA Garage Emissions Certification SC-COB01-0086.

Does this package fit the GT-R NISMO?

Yes. COBB confirms USDM NISMO cars from 2015 through 2017, JDM cars from 2014 through 2016, ADM and EDM cars for 2015 and 2016, and the 2016 Gulf Spec car. Standard USDM GT-R models from 2015 through 2018 are covered as well.

How is it different from the aluminum flex fuel package?

The ethanol hardware, fuel pump, CAN Gateway and Accessport are the same. This version swaps the aluminum Big SF intake for the Redline Big SF intake made from hand-laid carbon fiber. Both share the tubing diameter and Big SF maps.

Why does the kit include a fuel pump?

Ethanol blends such as E85 carry less energy per gallon than gasoline, so the engine needs more fuel for the same output. The Flex Fuel Redline Package NIS-007 therefore includes the High Flow Fuel Pump Kit so supply keeps up on a high ethanol mix, while the factory rails and regulator stay in place.

Will the Accessport in this kit flash the transmission?

No. The AP3-NIS-007 handles the engine ECU with Off The Shelf or custom maps, datalogging and live gauges. COBB reserves TCM flashing and adjustable launch control for the AP3-NIS-008 Accessport, sold in its own NIS-008 packages for the same years.

Description

COBB Tuning Stage 1+ CAN Flex Fuel Redline Package NIS-007 for R35 Nissan GT-R

COBB Tuning’s Flex Fuel Redline Package NIS-007 readies the 2015-2018 R35 GT-R and GT-R NISMO for ethanol without adding rail pressure monitoring. Alongside the AP3-NIS-007 Accessport V3 and the hand-laid carbon Big SF intake, it brings a High Flow Fuel Pump Kit and the CAN Gateway with its flex fuel hardware. It suits an owner with reliable E85 nearby; it is not CARB legal, so California cars belong on the D-660-133 packages.

Ethanol Sensing and Fuel Supply

The CAN Gateway reads a COBB ethanol content sensor and delivers that reading to the ECU as a digital message on the vehicle network, so no factory analog input is sacrificed. The sensor sits on a billet aluminum bracket, joined to the factory lines with E85-compatible and PTFE-lined -6AN hose. The Flex Fuel Redline Package NIS-007 keeps the factory rails and regulator and adds the High Flow Fuel Pump Kit for the extra volume ethanol needs.

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. Please review the full Terms & Conditions here.

BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
