What comes in the Redline Carbon Fiber Intake Package?

Two COBB products: the Accessport V3 handheld tuner and the Redline Carbon Fiber Intake System. The Redline Carbon Fiber Intake Package lets the Accessport load the Off The Shelf map that matches the new intake, so the hardware and calibration go on together. No intercooler or transmission flashing is included.

Is the intake package legal in California?

Yes. COBB lists it as legal for sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states when installed according to the application guide, under CARB Executive Order D-660-222. The Golf R or S3 can be driven on the street in California with both parts fitted.

Is the intake really carbon fiber throughout?

Yes, for the airbox. COBB builds the main airbox from multiple layers of 2x2 twill carbon fiber laid by hand, then applies a gloss clear coat for heat and UV fade resistance. The turbo inlet that joins it to the engine is wire-reinforced black silicone with black anodized clamps.

Does it fit a manual Golf R?

Yes. COBB confirms manual and DSG Golf R models across the MK7 and MK7.5 range, including 2014 to 2017 world market cars and 2015 to 2019 US cars, plus the 2015 to 2020 Audi S3 with S Tronic. Only the 2015 US Golf R is listed as DSG only.

Can I go back to stock later?

Yes. The Accessport has an Uninstall option that restores the ECU to exactly the state it was in before the first flash. The intake is a bolt-on part, so keeping the factory airbox and inlet means the engine bay can be returned to original condition.

Description

COBB Tuning Stage 1+ Redline Carbon Fiber Intake Package for MK7 Volkswagen Golf R and 8V Audi S3

COBB Tuning’s Stage 1+ Redline Carbon Fiber Intake Package for MK7 Volkswagen Golf R and 8V Audi S3 combines the Accessport V3 with COBB’s Redline intake, the one bolt-on here that changes how the engine bay looks as much as how the car breathes. The airbox is built from several layers of 2×2 twill carbon fiber, laid by hand and sealed under a gloss clear coat that resists fading from heat and sunlight. CARB EO D-660-222 makes the pairing legal in all 50 states. It suits an owner who wants a clean first step with a visual payoff; anyone chasing bigger numbers will want Stage 2 hardware later.

Construction

Air enters through integrated ducting topped by a black Redline badge, passes one of the largest oiled filters COBB makes, and runs through a velocity stack into a turbo inlet of wire-reinforced black silicone. Black anodized clamps seal each end of that inlet. The intake is designed for the TFSI engine in MQB platform Volkswagen and Audi models.

Features

Accessport V3 loads COBB Off The Shelf maps for bolt-on modifications or a protuner custom tune
Stores up to 100 maps and records up to 10 hours of datalogs
Adjustable traction control, Flat Foot Shift and launch control with six RPM slots
Uninstall option restores the ECU to its original state

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
