Does the Lift Kit for VA Subaru need a tune or any ECU changes?

No. The Lift Kit for VA Subaru is a purely mechanical part made of strut top spacers, rear end links and hardware, so no Accessport map is required. COBB classifies it as not emissions related, so it can be used on emission controlled vehicles. An alignment is required after installation.

Will lifting my WRX make the ride harsher?

No. The spacers sit on top of the factory strut tops, so the springs and struts stay exactly as Subaru supplied them. Because neither is changed or replaced, factory ride quality and the full range of suspension travel are kept while the car sits 1.5 inches taller.

Can the car still be aligned to factory specifications after the lift?

Yes. The front spacers include built in camber and caster offsets, which let a shop return the car to factory alignment specifications, and COBB states the factory adjustment range is maintained. Book the alignment for the day of the install, since it is required.

Why does COBB use 1.5 inches of lift instead of 2 inches?

At 1.5 inches the kit needs no spacers on the rear multi link arms and no extended brake lines, and the factory springs stay in place. Many 2 inch kits call for replacement springs. The lower figure keeps the job a true bolt on that preserves travel and ride quality.

Which WRX and STI models does this kit fit?

COBB confirms 2015 to 2021 Subaru WRX sedans with the manual or CVT transmission and 2015 to 2021 WRX STI sedans with the manual, including the 2018 Type RA and 2019 S209. It does not cover the 2022 and newer VB WRX or earlier GR and GV cars.

Description

COBB Tuning 1.5 Inch Lift Kit for VA Subaru WRX / WRX STI

COBB Tuning’s 1.5 Inch Lift Kit for VA Subaru WRX and WRX STI sedans raises the body on machined 6061 aluminum spacers that sit atop the factory strut tops, so the springs and struts Subaru fitted stay in place and ride quality and full travel are kept. It suits the owner who drives gravel roads, steep driveways or snowy winters and wants more clearance and room for taller all-terrain tires without a suspension rebuild. Anyone chasing a lower, track-focused stance should look elsewhere, and every buyer should budget for the alignment COBB requires after installation.

Design and Construction

The Lift Kit for VA Subaru centers on CNC machined 6061 aluminum spacers, hard anodized black and laser etched with the COBB logo. The two front spacers are identical and clock in opposite directions depending on the side of the car. Bespoke adjustable rear end links let you set tension on the rear anti-sway bar once the body sits higher, and the 1.5 inch height was picked so the rear multi-link arms and brake lines stay stock.

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
