Is the Signature Rear Exhaust for E36 a bolt-on install?

Yes. Active Autowerke engineered the Signature Rear Exhaust for E36 BMW 325i and 328i as a true bolt-on system, so it replaces the factory rear section at the existing flanges with no cutting or welding. Thicker flanges and an illustrated manual make the job straightforward for a careful home mechanic.

What does the Gen 3 exhaust sound like?

The hexagon-style muffler gives the E36 six a sound that Active Autowerke compares to a Formula 1 car when fitted to an otherwise stock engine. It is louder and sharper than the factory exhaust, and its character suits a weekend enthusiast car more than a quiet daily commuter.

What about the E36 M3?

This listing covers the E36 325i and 328i. The E36 M3 version of the Signature exhaust is not covered by this listing, so M3 owners should contact Bulletproof Automotive to confirm fitment and availability before ordering rather than buying from this listing.

How much does the exhaust weigh?

Active Autowerke quotes 34 lb for the complete Signature exhaust system, built from 304 stainless with twin 54mm inlet pipes and dual 76mm tips. The company describes that as a useful weight saving over the stock system, which is heavier and more restrictive.

What warranty does the exhaust carry?

Active Autowerke covers the Gen 3 Signature exhaust with a one-year warranty. The system is built from new brushed-finish 304 stainless steel, it ships with an illustrated instruction manual, and the thicker flanges are designed to hold a tight seal at the joints for the long term.

Description

Active Autowerke Gen 3 Signature Rear Exhaust for E36 BMW 325i and 328i

Active Autowerke’s Gen 3 Signature Rear Exhaust for E36 BMW 325i and 328i is the third generation of the Miami company’s E36 Signature system, and it still bolts on in place of the factory rear section. Twin 54mm inlet pipes run through smooth mandrel bends into a hexagonal muffler, finishing at two double-walled 76mm tips embossed with the Active Autowerke logo, all in new brushed 304 stainless. Thicker flanges seal the joints more tightly. For an M50 or M52 car kept original in spirit it brings a period-correct look and a sharper six-cylinder voice, though owners hunting large power gains will find an exhaust alone a modest step.

Design and Performance

The hexagon-shaped muffler is the heart of the Gen 3 design, and Active Autowerke likens its sound on an otherwise stock car to a Formula 1 engine. The company dyno-tested the system, quotes a weight of 34 lb, and reports flow rates substantially higher than the stock exhaust through the twin 54mm inlets.

Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
