How much power does the Level 3 Supercharger Kit for E36 BMW M3 make?

Active Autowerke states that the Level 3 Supercharger Kit for E36 BMW M3 takes the factory 240 crank horsepower to 400 horsepower at the wheels, 35 to 50 more than its Level 2 kit. The company gives no fuel grade or test conditions alongside these numbers, so they stand as the claim of the manufacturer.

Does the Level 3 kit remove traction control?

Yes. Active Autowerke states that the Level 3 installation removes the traction control to make room for the larger intake pipes that feed the 92 trim blower. A driver who wants to keep the factory traction control should consider the Level 2 kit, for which Active Autowerke mentions no such removal.

What separates Level 3 from Level 2?

Level 3 replaces the Rotrex C38-81 of Level 2 with the larger C38-92 and adds bigger intake pipes. The front mount air to air intercooler, upgraded high flow fuel pump, six larger injectors and dyno-tuned software are common to both kits.

Is a separate tune or fuel system work needed?

No. Active Autowerke includes its dyno-tuned software, an upgraded high flow fuel pump and six larger high-flow injectors, with the mounting hardware, plumbing, hoses, clamps and an illustrated manual. Active Autowerke describes the kit as a complete bolt-on application and lists nothing else as required.

What warranty comes with the kit?

Active Autowerke covers the kit with a one-year warranty and free technical support. Each kit is built to order, and the company quotes 4 to 6 weeks before it ships, so Bulletproof Automotive confirms the build slot and model year with Active Autowerke once the order is placed.

Description

Active Autowerke Level 3 Supercharger Kit for E36 BMW M3

Active Autowerke’s Level 3 Supercharger Kit for E36 BMW M3 sits at the top of the E36 range, built around the Rotrex C38-92, a larger 92 trim blower, fed through bigger intake pipes and a front mount air to air intercooler. Active Autowerke puts the result at 400 horsepower at the wheels, from a car BMW rated at 240 at the crank, and 35 to 50 horsepower beyond its own Level 2 kit. That final step costs more than money: the larger intake pipes need the space the traction control used, and Active Autowerke removes it. For the owner who wants the most an S50 or S52 will give and is happy to drive without traction control, this is the kit.

Design and Performance

The C38-92 is a larger blower than the C38-81 used at Level 2, and the bigger intake pipes are there to feed it. Everything else follows the intercooled layout of the Level 2 kit: front mount core, upgraded high flow fuel pump, six larger injectors and dyno-tuned software. Owners who want to keep the factory traction control should look at Level 2, where Active Autowerke names no such removal and still claims 350 horsepower at the wheels.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
