Is the X-pipe included with the GESI Sport Cats Upgrade for E90?

No. The GESI Sport Cats Upgrade for E90 / E92 / E93 BMW M3 X-Pipe contains the two catted connecting pipes only, and it bolts to an Active Autowerke Signature X-pipe that must already be on the car. Without that X-pipe, the complete GESI Catted X-Pipe is the part to buy.

Should I buy the upgrade together with the GESI Catted X-Pipe?

No. The GESI Catted X-Pipe arrives with both GESI converters fitted in its connecting pipes, so the upgrade would duplicate them. The upgrade is aimed at owners of an earlier Signature X-pipe who want to add GESI converters to the system they already own.

Will it set a check engine light on an E9X M3?

Active Autowerke states that the GESI converters will not set a catalyst efficiency code and that no tune is required to keep it that way. The converters are fully OBD2 compliant, EPA registered, and reach operating efficiency within 9 seconds of a cold start.

Why pay more for GESI than AFlow?

The two upgrades fit the same Signature X-pipe and carry the same 300 to 500 horsepower rating per converter. The GESI kit specifies a 4 inch GESI G-Sport HO-Series Gen 2 converter, and buyers who want that particular catalyst pay the difference. On capacity alone, the AFlow kit is equally suited to a stock S65.

What warranty comes with the upgrade?

Active Autowerke covers the pipes for 1 year, the converter shells and tube ends for 5 years or 50,000 miles, and the catalytic cores for 2 years or 25,000 miles, all for the original purchaser. A tune that produces more burble than stock voids the core coverage, because it damages the catalyst.

Description

Active Autowerke GESI Sport Cats Upgrade for E90 / E92 / E93 BMW M3 X-Pipe

Active Autowerke’s GESI Sport Cats Upgrade for E90 / E92 / E93 BMW M3 X-Pipe adds two 4 inch GESI G-Sport HO-Series Gen 2 converters to a Signature X-pipe that is already fitted, by replacing its connecting pipes with catted ones. Active Autowerke rates each converter for 300 to 500 horsepower, enough for the 4.0 liter S65 V8 as BMW built it. The kit was designed so E9X M3 owners could add EPA registered catalysts to the system with no tune, and Active Autowerke states it will not set a catalyst efficiency code. It is pointless on a car without the Signature X-pipe; there the complete GESI Catted X-Pipe is the right purchase, converters included.

Construction

Both connecting pipes are TIG welded 304 stainless, Miami built, and each GESI converter has a metallic 304 stainless substrate furnace brazed to its mantle with a 400 cell per square inch catalyst. The pipes reuse factory-style flanges at the X-pipe and the rear section, so most aftermarket mufflers stay compatible and nothing has to be cut.

Features

Two 4 inch GESI G-Sport HO-Series Gen 2 converters
EPA registered converters, fully OBD2 compliant
Operating efficiency within 9 seconds of startup
Heat rating up to 1500F
Bolt-on installation with no cutting or welding
No performance tune needed

What’s Included

Connecting pipes with GESI converters (x2)

Applications

BMW M3: E90 | 2008-2011 | 4.0L S65
BMW M3: E92 | 2008-2013 | 4.0L S65
BMW M3: E93 | 2008-2013 | 4.0L S65

Notes

The GESI Sport Cats Upgrade for E90 needs an Active Autowerke Signature X-pipe already installed and does not include one. Cars without it should take the complete GESI Catted X-Pipe for E90 / E92 / E93 BMW M3.
The lower-cost alternative is the AFlow Sport Cats Upgrade for E90 / E92 / E93 BMW M3 X-Pipe
Warranty is 1 year on the pipes, 5 years or 50,000 miles on the converter shells and tube ends, and 2 years or 25,000 miles on the catalytic cores, for the original purchaser. It is void on a car tuned for more burble than stock.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
