Endless Brake Pads for Porsche 959
Endless’s Brake Pads for Porsche 959 use one shape, EIP000, at all four corners of the 2.8-liter, twin-turbocharged flat-six car Porsche built in 1987 and 1988. The 959 stops on four-piston fixed calipers at every wheel, over 322mm front and 304mm rear discs, with an anti-lock system Porsche developed with Wabco, and Endless lists the same pad at both axles despite the different disc sizes. For a 959 that is driven rather than stored, SSM Plus keeps brake dust on the hollow-spoke magnesium wheels to a minimum, and MX72 Plus suits one taken to a track day.
Features
- Endless pad shape EIP000, used at both the front and rear axles
- Street and street-to-track compounds SSM Plus, MX72, MX72 Plus and CC-Rg, with no SSS made in this shape
- Fifteen racing compounds in the Racing Group, with W003, S330 and MA45B as separate options
- MA45B priced the same front and rear, as both axles take EIP000
- Every compound offered front, rear or as a Front and Rear Set
Choosing a Compound
Because the 959 takes EIP000 at both ends, choosing a compound once covers the whole car. SSM Plus suits a 959 driven on the road, with low dust and low noise. MX72 and MX72 Plus suit spirited road use and track days on street tires, and CC-Rg suits a car run hard on a circuit, where its bite when cold helps on the first laps. The racing compounds are for a car prepared for events, and each needs bedding in before hard use. W007 and W008, which Endless prices for EIP000, are left off because Endless designs both for carbon ceramic rotors.
Every figure below is Endless’s own. Friction is the compound’s average friction coefficient, so a higher number gives more bite for the same pedal pressure. The rotor range is the band of rotor temperatures Endless designs the compound to work in, so choose by the temperatures your car will see.
Street and street-to-track compounds
- SSM Plus (street): non-asbestos; friction 0.33-0.40; rotor range 0-550C (32-1022F). Low dust, low noise and long life. Braking builds with pedal pressure rather than a sharp first bite, for drivers who want clean wheels and a quiet car.
- MX72 (street to light track): ceramic carbon metal; friction 0.37-0.47; rotor range 50-700C (122-1292F). Minimal noise and dust, strong friction at low temperatures, reduced rotor wear and a better pedal feel than a typical semi-metallic pad. Endless’s dual-duty compound for a road car that sees the occasional track day.
- MX72 Plus (street to circuit): ceramic carbon metal; friction 0.39-0.47; rotor range 50-750C (122-1382F). Holds its braking force to higher temperatures than MX72, with stable control and a consistent pedal release. Endless aims it at cars on street tires that run on track.
- CC-Rg (track day, street capable): ceramic carbon metal; friction 0.38-0.45; rotor range 50-800C (122-1472F). High initial bite across a wide temperature range, even when cold, and modulation that works with the factory ABS under hard use. Endless notes it is noisy on the street; it is the step up from MX72 Plus for regular track days.
Racing compounds
Each option below is one choice in the Choose Compound menu. For a group, name your compound in the order notes and Bulletproof Automotive confirms it with your order. Every racing compound needs Endless’s bedding procedure: at 70 to 80 percent of normal pedal effort, bring the rotors gradually to 400C (752F), then let them cool below 150C (302F) before hard use.
Racing Group
- ME22: dual braking style; friction 0.33-0.38; rotor range 150-800C (302-1472F). Developed from ME20 with lower friction for control, for light to mid-weight cars or heavier cars on slower circuits. Endless rates it for street and track.
- ME20: trail-braking style; rotor range 150-800C (302-1472F). High, stable friction at high temperature with low wear, developed for touring cars and rally. Works front or rear, with stock or racing ABS.
- N35S: trail-braking style; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). Quick, sharp and responsive, with stable modulation under high temperature and load. Endless’s flagship rally compound, also run in FIA GT, and its suggested starting point for drivers new to Endless racing pads.
- N05U: trail-braking style; friction 0.46-0.53; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). More bite than N35S, popular in sprint-focused Porsche Cup cars.
- N05S: trail-braking style; friction 0.45-0.53; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). Immediate high friction with little pedal effort, used in Japanese rally cars without brake boosters and in European and Australian sprint racing.
- N30C: friction 0.50-0.60; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). High initial bite, gentle on rotors and low wear. A rally compound for cars without a brake booster.
- MS20: friction 0.32-0.38; rotor range 150-800C (302-1472F). A low-friction rear pad with a flat torque curve and long life, for club racing cars.
- MS25: friction 0.36-0.42; rotor range 150-800C (302-1472F). Warms up gradually even under heavy braking. Endless pairs it with a higher-friction pad to prevent lock-up.
- MS35: friction 0.45-0.53; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). Mid to high initial bite with good modulation and control, a sprint pad for a wide range of conditions.
- ML20A: friction 0.30-0.33; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). A rear compound with lower initial bite to prevent rear lock-up, for lightweight GT cars.
- ML35A: friction 0.30-0.38; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). Slightly lower friction with excellent modulation and wear, for lighter GT cars.
- ML40A: friction 0.32-0.47; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). Moderate friction that resists lock-up, an endurance compound.
- S55G: Endless publishes no figures. It suits lightweight and front-wheel-drive cars, and the rear of front-wheel-drive cars, with high controllability.
- PC35: Endless publishes no figures. More bite than N35S with high braking force and a stable pedal; Endless’s base pad for rally raid.
- S41S: Endless publishes no figures. Developed for GT cars, including GT3, under high brake loads.
Sold as their own options
- W003: trail-braking style; friction 0.40-0.45. Similar in character to N35S with better wear, tough and stable at high temperature with a linear torque curve; run in rally, touring cars, ALMS and PWC. Circuit only: Endless does not recommend it for the street and notes high rotor wear when cold.
- S330: trail-braking style; friction 0.60-0.70; rotor range 300-850C (572-1562F). High friction for sprint racing, with good control at high levels and without accelerating rotor wear; run in Super GT, stock cars and GT2 and GT3 sprint racing.
- MA45B: standard braking style; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). Endless’s endurance compound: low friction but stable for a whole race, with excellent heat resistance and wear. Most Nurburgring and Spa 24 Hours entrants run it.
Applications
- Porsche 959: 1987-1988 | 2.8L twin-turbo flat-six
Notes
- Each Front or Rear set of Brake Pads for Porsche 959 cars covers both wheels on one axle
- Endless lists the 959 2.8 from 1987 to 1991; Porsche built the production cars in 1987 and 1988, and owners of one of the eight later cars of 1992 and 1993 should check with Bulletproof Automotive
- For the factory four-piston calipers; a car converted to aftermarket calipers takes the pads for those calipers
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do the Endless Brake Pads for Porsche 959 fit both axles? Yes. Endless lists its EIP000 shape at the front and the rear of the 959, even though the front discs measure 322mm and the rears 304mm. A Front or Rear set covers both wheels on one axle, and the Front and Rear Set of Endless Brake Pads for Porsche 959 cars is two identical sets that cover the whole car.
- Which compound suits a 959 at a track day? MX72 Plus suits a 959 on street tires at a track day or a fast tour, with Endless rating it to 750C, or 1382F, and a consistent pedal release. For repeated hard sessions, CC-Rg keeps high bite from cold and works with the factory ABS under hard use, but Endless notes it is noisy on the road.
- Which pad keeps dust off the magnesium wheels of a 959? SSM Plus. Endless rates it for low dust, low noise and long life, which suits a car whose hollow-spoke magnesium wheels owners want to keep clean. MX72 and MX72 Plus also keep dust to a minimum while handling higher rotor temperatures. Endless does not make SSS in the EIP000 shape, so SSM Plus is the road-focused option here.
- Should a road-driven 959 run a racing compound? No. Most of the racing compounds are designed for rotor temperatures from 300C, or 572F, upward, which a road car rarely reaches, and every one of them needs the Endless bedding procedure before hard use. W003 is circuit only, with high rotor wear when cold. For road driving with occasional fast laps, MX72 Plus is the better fit.
- Is the Front and Rear Set cheaper than two separate sets? No. Endless offers no combo set for EIP000, so the Front and Rear Set costs the same as two sets in the chosen compound. Since both axles take the same shape, the two sets are identical, which keeps ordering simple for a 959: pick one compound and it covers all four corners.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only.

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well.
For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario.
