Endless Brake Pads for F90 BMW M5
Endless’s Brake Pads for F90 BMW M5 fit the twin-turbo, all-wheel-drive sedan BMW sold in the US for the 2018 to 2023 model years, the M5 Competition included, on its standard brakes with six-piston front calipers and iron rotors. Endless lists EIP289 at the front and EIP303 at the rear for the F90 with no split by trim. Cars with the optional M Carbon ceramic brakes, and the M5 CS, which carried them as standard, take different pads. A sedan of this size and pace builds brake heat quickly on a circuit, so we would start an F90 on MX72 Plus for track days and move to CC-Rg for regular circuit work.
Features
- Endless pad shapes EIP289 front and EIP303 rear for the F90 M5 and M5 Competition
- Street and street-to-track compounds SSM Plus, MX72, MX72 Plus and CC-Rg
- Racing options: the fifteen-compound Racing Group, W003, S330 and the MA45B endurance compound
- Every compound offered for either axle or as a Front and Rear Set
Choosing a Compound
SSM Plus is the compound for an F90 used as a fast daily car, since Endless does not make SSS in these shapes. MX72 and MX72 Plus cover hard road driving and track days on street tires, and CC-Rg covers an M5 that goes to the circuit most months. The Racing Group, W003, S330 and MA45B are for a car prepared for competition and are more than a road car needs. W007 and W008, which Endless prices for these shapes, are left off because Endless designs both for carbon ceramic rotors, and this listing is for the iron-rotor brakes.
Every figure below is Endless’s own. Friction is the compound’s average friction coefficient, so a higher number gives more bite for the same pedal pressure. The rotor range is the band of rotor temperatures Endless designs the compound to work in, so choose by the temperatures your car will see.
Street and street-to-track compounds
- SSM Plus (street): non-asbestos; friction 0.33-0.40; rotor range 0-550C (32-1022F). Low dust, low noise and long life. Braking builds with pedal pressure rather than a sharp first bite, for drivers who want clean wheels and a quiet car.
- MX72 (street to light track): ceramic carbon metal; friction 0.37-0.47; rotor range 50-700C (122-1292F). Minimal noise and dust, strong friction at low temperatures, reduced rotor wear and a better pedal feel than a typical semi-metallic pad. Endless’s dual-duty compound for a road car that sees the occasional track day.
- MX72 Plus (street to circuit): ceramic carbon metal; friction 0.39-0.47; rotor range 50-750C (122-1382F). Holds its braking force to higher temperatures than MX72, with stable control and a consistent pedal release. Endless aims it at cars on street tires that run on track.
- CC-Rg (track day, street capable): ceramic carbon metal; friction 0.38-0.45; rotor range 50-800C (122-1472F). High initial bite across a wide temperature range, even when cold, and modulation that works with the factory ABS under hard use. Endless notes it is noisy on the street; it is the step up from MX72 Plus for regular track days.
Racing compounds
Each option below is one choice in the Choose Compound menu. For a group, name your compound in the order notes and Bulletproof Automotive confirms it with your order. Every racing compound needs Endless’s bedding procedure: at 70 to 80 percent of normal pedal effort, bring the rotors gradually to 400C (752F), then let them cool below 150C (302F) before hard use.
Racing Group
- ME22: dual braking style; friction 0.33-0.38; rotor range 150-800C (302-1472F). Developed from ME20 with lower friction for control, for light to mid-weight cars or heavier cars on slower circuits. Endless rates it for street and track.
- ME20: trail-braking style; rotor range 150-800C (302-1472F). High, stable friction at high temperature with low wear, developed for touring cars and rally. Works front or rear, with stock or racing ABS.
- N35S: trail-braking style; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). Quick, sharp and responsive, with stable modulation under high temperature and load. Endless’s flagship rally compound, also run in FIA GT, and its suggested starting point for drivers new to Endless racing pads.
- N05U: trail-braking style; friction 0.46-0.53; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). More bite than N35S, popular in sprint-focused Porsche Cup cars.
- N05S: trail-braking style; friction 0.45-0.53; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). Immediate high friction with little pedal effort, used in Japanese rally cars without brake boosters and in European and Australian sprint racing.
- N30C: friction 0.50-0.60; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). High initial bite, gentle on rotors and low wear. A rally compound for cars without a brake booster.
- MS20: friction 0.32-0.38; rotor range 150-800C (302-1472F). A low-friction rear pad with a flat torque curve and long life, for club racing cars.
- MS25: friction 0.36-0.42; rotor range 150-800C (302-1472F). Warms up gradually even under heavy braking. Endless pairs it with a higher-friction pad to prevent lock-up.
- MS35: friction 0.45-0.53; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). Mid to high initial bite with good modulation and control, a sprint pad for a wide range of conditions.
- ML20A: friction 0.30-0.33; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). A rear compound with lower initial bite to prevent rear lock-up, for lightweight GT cars.
- ML35A: friction 0.30-0.38; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). Slightly lower friction with excellent modulation and wear, for lighter GT cars.
- ML40A: friction 0.32-0.47; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). Moderate friction that resists lock-up, an endurance compound.
- S55G: Endless publishes no figures. It suits lightweight and front-wheel-drive cars, and the rear of front-wheel-drive cars, with high controllability.
- PC35: Endless publishes no figures. More bite than N35S with high braking force and a stable pedal; Endless’s base pad for rally raid.
- S41S: Endless publishes no figures. Developed for GT cars, including GT3, under high brake loads.
Sold as their own options
- W003: trail-braking style; friction 0.40-0.45. Similar in character to N35S with better wear, tough and stable at high temperature with a linear torque curve; run in rally, touring cars, ALMS and PWC. Circuit only: Endless does not recommend it for the street and notes high rotor wear when cold.
- S330: trail-braking style; friction 0.60-0.70; rotor range 300-850C (572-1562F). High friction for sprint racing, with good control at high levels and without accelerating rotor wear; run in Super GT, stock cars and GT2 and GT3 sprint racing.
- MA45B: standard braking style; rotor range 300-800C (572-1472F). Endless’s endurance compound: low friction but stable for a whole race, with excellent heat resistance and wear. Most Nurburgring and Spa 24 Hours entrants run it.
Applications
- BMW M5: F90 | 2018-2023 | 4.4L S63

Notes
- Each Front or Rear set of Brake Pads for F90 M5 sedans covers both wheels on one axle
- Not for an M5 with M Carbon ceramic brakes, including every M5 CS, which take different pads
- Not for the E39 or E60 M5, which take different Endless pads; Endless does not list these shapes for the later G90 M5
- Owners of a 2024 F90 built for a market outside the US should check with Bulletproof Automotive
- For the factory brakes; a car converted to an aftermarket big brake kit takes the pads for those calipers
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do the Endless Brake Pads for F90 fit an M5 with carbon ceramic brakes? No. The Endless Brake Pads for F90 cars listed here suit the standard brakes, with six-piston front calipers and iron rotors. Cars with the optional M Carbon ceramic brakes, which BMW fitted as standard to the M5 CS, take different pads, and Endless designs its carbon ceramic compounds, W007 and W008, for those rotors. Check which brakes the car has before ordering.
- Do these pads fit the M5 Competition? Yes. Endless lists one pair of shapes for the F90 with no split by trim, EIP289 front and EIP303 rear, so a 2019 to 2023 M5 Competition on the standard iron brakes takes the same pads as the M5. Competition cars ordered with carbon ceramic brakes, and every M5 CS, need different pads.
- Which compound suits an F90 M5 on track? MX72 Plus suits occasional track days on street tires, and Endless rates it to 750C, or 1382F. For regular circuit use, CC-Rg is rated to 800C, or 1472F, keeps strong bite across a wide range and works with the factory ABS under hard use, though Endless notes it is noisy on the street.
- Is MA45B offered for both axles on the F90? Yes. Endless prices its endurance compound for both EIP289 and EIP303, so MA45B can be ordered for the front, the rear or as a Front and Rear Set. It gives low but stable friction for a whole race and needs the Endless bedding procedure before hard use, so it belongs on a car prepared for long sessions rather than a road car.
- Which Endless pad is quietest on a daily-driven M5? SSM Plus. Endless rates it for low dust, low noise and long life, with braking that builds through pedal pressure rather than a sharp first bite. Endless does not make SSS for these shapes. MX72 also keeps noise and dust to a minimum and adds friction at low temperatures, a sensible choice for an owner who drives the M5 hard on the road.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only.

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well.
For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at
