Can the Rear Diffuser Kit for ND clear an aftermarket exhaust?

Yes, in many cases. Verus Engineering made the Rear Diffuser Kit for ND adjustable vertically so it can clear a variety of aftermarket exhaust systems. Verus does not publish a list of confirmed exhausts for the ND, so confirm clearance with Verus before ordering if the car runs a less common system.

Does a diffuser change the handling balance of the Miata?

Yes, slightly. The Verus Engineering diffuser creates a low-pressure zone at the rear and a lower pressure zone in the middle of the chassis, which equates to a small change in aerodynamic balance. Pairing it with the Verus ND front splitter keeps the balance sound, and in the Ventus 1 package Verus adds dive planes for the same reason.

Is the diffuser worth fitting to a daily driven ND?

Yes. Verus Engineering says the diffuser suits a normal daily driver as well as a track car, reducing lift and drag and increasing gas mileage on the road while helping the ND get more from its tires on track. Its non-aggressive strakes and low-gloss textured black finish keep the look subtle enough for a street car.

What else improves the diffuser on an ND?

Verus Engineering builds rear suspension covers and flat underbody panels that feed the diffuser cleaner, uninterrupted airflow, making it more effective. All three come together with side splitters and dive planes in the Verus Ventus 1 package for the ND, which Verus recommends as the starting point for aero tuning on the Miata.

How is the diffuser mounted?

Four brackets and a stainless hardware kit hold the diffuser to the car, and Verus Engineering describes the install as a simple, non-invasive bolt-on. The same brackets allow the vertical adjustment that helps it clear aftermarket exhausts, and Verus publishes an install manual and an informative packet for the part.

Description

Verus Engineering Rear Diffuser Kit for ND Mazda MX-5 Miata

Verus Engineering’s Rear Diffuser Kit for ND Mazda MX-5 Miata reduces lift and drag at the rear of the car while giving the ND a cleaner, more finished tail. Verus kept the strakes non-aggressive on purpose, so the look stays subtle, and those strakes shed vortices that keep airflow attached to the diffuser surface. The diffuser adjusts vertically to suit a range of aftermarket exhausts, and it earns its place on a daily driver as well as a dedicated track car; Verus even points to better fuel mileage on the road.

Construction

Made in the U.S.A. from 5052-H32 aluminum sheet, the diffuser is shaped by CNC laser and press brake and wears a textured black powder coat with a low sheen. Four brackets and stainless hardware hold it up, and Verus picked aluminum for a long service life.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
