Why does the Rear Inch-Up Big Brake Kit for VBH keep the factory caliper?

Endless says the WRX S4 electric parking brake cannot be transferred to its own caliper bodies. So instead of replacing the caliper, this kit keeps the factory unit with its parking brake function and fits a larger 332mm rotor with a new housing and bracket to suit.

What does the kit actually upgrade?

Rotor size and pad. The factory 300mm rear disc is replaced with a 332mm two-piece curving slit rotor, and the kit supplies Endless EP500 pads and brake lines. The larger rotor gives the rear more braking torque and heat capacity, and the factory electric parking brake keeps working as before.

Why is the rotor thickness not shown?

Endless USA lists the rotor as 332mm x 30mm, while the Endless Japan VBH sheet lists 332mm x 17mm. Because the factory caliper is retained, we confirm the exact rotor with Endless when the order is placed rather than print a figure that may be wrong.

Do I need a front kit as well?

No, the rear kit installs on its own. Endless designed it to sit behind its 6POT Light or Racing MONO6 TA front kits for the WRX S4, and fitting it with one of those keeps the front and rear upgrades in proportion.

What is included in the Rear Inch-Up Kit for the VBH WRX S4?

Two blue-anodised aluminium outer housings, two blue-coated steel support brackets, Endless EP500 pads, two 332mm two-piece rotors and brake lines. The factory calipers are reused, and Endless specifies DOT4 or higher fluid for the bleed of this Big Brake Kit for VBH.

Description

Endless Rear Inch-Up Kit Rear Big Brake Kit for VBH Subaru WRX S4

Endless’s Rear Inch-Up Big Brake Kit for VBH Subaru WRX S4 solves a problem the electric parking brake creates: Endless says the WRX S4 parking brake cannot be moved onto its own caliper bodies, so this kit keeps the factory caliper and gives it a larger rotor instead. The factory 300mm rear disc gives way to a 332mm two-piece curving slit rotor, carried on a blue-anodised aluminium outer housing and a blue-coated steel support bracket, with Endless EP500 pads and brake lines. Endless gives 17 inch as the minimum wheel. It is the sensible rear partner to an Endless front kit on the WRX S4.

About Endless

Endless was founded in 1986, when Isao Hanazato began developing brake pads out of his own racing experience, and the company builds its friction material, rotors, calipers and brake fluid in Saku City, Nagano. It has run its own team since 1991, in the All Japan F3 Championship and the Mirage Cup, and by 2017 had supplied brake fluid to Formula 1 for fifteen consecutive years. The pads supplied in each kit are Endless compounds, so caliper and friction material come from the same company.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
