Does the aFe intake need a tune?

No. aFe lists this kit as No Tune Required, and it installs onto the factory airbox and cover with the mass airflow sensors moved across from the factory filters to the new carbon bases. The engine continues to run its factory calibration, which is part of why the kit keeps the factory airbox rather than replacing it.

Is the Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake legal in California?

No, not currently. aFe states that this product is not CARB exempt and is not available for purchase in California or for use on any vehicle registered with the California DMV. Only aFe products carrying a CARB Executive Order number are legal on the vehicles that order names.

Will it fit a Huracan Evo or Performante?

No. aFe states that the kit does not fit Lamborghini Huracan Evo or Huracan Performante models. The installation sheet covers the Huracan from 2015 to 2019 and the Audi R8 from 2014 to 2023, both with the 5.2 liter V10 and an automatic transmission. Confirm the exact model and year before ordering.

Does it fit an R8 with a manual transmission?

No. aFe states that the kit will only fit vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions, and its installation sheet marks both the Audi R8 and the Huracan applications as automatic. Owners of manual transmission R8 V10 cars should not order this Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake, because the kit does not suit the manual car.

How often do the Pro 5R filters need cleaning?

aFe recommends cleaning at around 25,000 to 30,000 miles, and sooner in dusty conditions. Pro 5R is an oiled media, so the filters are re-oiled every time they are cleaned and should never be run dry. The aFe restore kit for Pro 5R media is sold separately from the intake.

What comes in the kit?

Two carbon fiber filter assemblies for the driver and passenger sides, reinforced silicone reducer couplers, two sizes of hose clamp, M4 Torx screws and a T20 security bit. The factory airbox and covers are reused. Installation needs basic nut drivers and a Torx driver, and the connections should be checked again after the first few hundred miles.

Description

aFe Track Series Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake with Pro 5R Filters for LB724 Lamborghini Huracan and 42 / 4S Audi R8 V10

aFe’s Track Series Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake with Pro 5R Filters for LB724 Lamborghini Huracan and 42 / 4S Audi R8 V10 works inside the factory airbox rather than replacing it, which is why it installs with hand tools and no cutting. Two 6in tall, 360-degree radial filters sit on twill-weave carbon bases with integrated mass airflow sensor mounts, and reinforced silicone couplers take the place of the factory bellows ahead of the throttle bodies. aFe measured 530 CFM through the system, 43 percent more than the factory intake, and recorded gains of 26 hp and 17 lb-ft on its own Dynojet. The covers go back on over the filters. It suits the owner who wants a measured gain and oiled race-style media without changing how the engine bay looks, on a car that will stay on its factory calibration.

Design and Performance

The filters use aFe’s Pro 5R media, five layers of progressively finer oiled cotton gauze and the highest-flowing media aFe makes, which is what lets two filters inside a factory box outflow the stock arrangement by that margin. The dyno figures come from an Audi R8 on aFe’s in-house Dynojet, so treat them as the gain aFe recorded on that car rather than a promise for every chassis on the list. Fitment is narrower than the V10 family: aFe builds this kit for automatic cars only and says plainly that it does not fit the Huracan Performante or Evo. Oiled media needs looking after, and aFe recommends cleaning and re-oiling at around 25,000 to 30,000 miles, sooner in dusty conditions.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
