What does the Boost Logic Transmission Mount Kit for R35 replace?

The Transmission Mount Kit for R35 replaces all four transmission mounts on the R35 GT-R with solid chromoly steel parts. Each mount uses the factory locating positions, so the GR6 transmission stays where Nissan placed it while the mounts no longer flex under load. Boost Logic sells the engine mounts as a separate kit.

How will solid transmission mounts change the feel of the car?

Expect more vibration and noise. With nothing compliant between the GR6 and the chassis, vibration travels into the subframe and the ride is less smooth than on the factory rubber mounts, most noticeably at idle and on launch. Owners who drive mostly on the street should weigh that against the firmer drivetrain location the kit gives.

How much weight does the kit save?

Boost Logic lists the stock front transmission mount at 2.2 lbs against 1.0 lb for its version, and the stock rear mount at 3.2 lbs against 1.4 lbs. The weight saving is small, and the real purpose of the kit is holding the transmission firmly in place during hard launches and fast shifts.

Do solid transmission mounts help the GR6 hold more power?

Yes, according to Boost Logic. Its reasoning is that a GR6 held solidly to the chassis twists less under load, so the transmission case is better able to hold high power, and parts that flex less last longer in high-horsepower builds. The kit does not strengthen the gears, clutches or other internals; it reduces the case movement that adds stress on a hard-launched car.

Should I fit the engine mounts too?

Yes, it is a sensible pairing. Boost Logic sells a matching solid engine mount kit with a 6061 billet aluminum rear mount and chromoly steel front mounts. Fitting both kits locates the engine and the GR6 transmission together, rather than pairing solid transmission mounts with the softer factory engine mounts on the same drivetrain.

Description

Boost Logic Solid Transmission Mount Kit for R35 Nissan GT-R

Boost Logic’s Solid Transmission Mount Kit for R35 Nissan GT-R is built for the owner who judges a GT-R by its sixty-foot time. The Austin, Texas tuner introduced it in 2013, with the mounts already running on several of its own shop cars. Solid mounts in place of the factory rubber stop the GR6 dual-clutch from twisting as the clutches bite at launch, and Boost Logic’s case is that less drivetrain movement means a harder launch, quicker reactions and more of the engine’s output reaching the wheels. That firmness is paid for in refinement. The kit suits a GT-R whose engine has already outgrown stock and is driven to the strip or the half mile; for a car kept for long, quiet miles, the factory mounts remain the better choice.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
