Moshammer Ducktail Evo III for 992 Porsche 911 Carrera, Carrera GTS

Moshammer Ducktail Evo III is the third iteration of a shape Berlin has spent years refining, and the detail that sets it apart is a dedicated frame that carries the third brake light rather than working around it. Integrated ram air ducts feed the intercoolers, the intake ports and the engine compartment, with flow that Moshammer rates above the inlets of the 992 Sport Classic and the Turbo S. Because the profile is fixed rather than adjustable, downforce arrives consistently instead of varying with spoiler position, and the design is TUV tested and certified for high speed and track performance. It is aimed squarely at 992.1 and 992.2 coupes, including cars already wearing the factory aero kit with the fixed wing, where the wing and its mounts come off and the ducktail takes their place. Supplied primed in satin black with mounting material and issued with a TUV parts certificate (§19.3), it is made to order in small batches, which keeps a discerning owner ahead of both the crowd and the paperwork.

Third Generation Design

Evo I established the stepped ducktail on the 992, Evo II added the Ram Air work that made it a cooling part as well as a styling one, and Evo III concentrates on integration. Its geometry mirrors the elegance of the 992 Sport Classic while adding a dedicated frame for the third brake light, so the finished rear deck looks resolved rather than adapted. Adjustability is deliberately absent, which is what allows the aerodynamic result to repeat itself lap after lap.

Ram Air Ducting

The ducts moulded into the spoiler are not decorative. They channel air to the intercoolers, the intake ports and the engine compartment, and Moshammer rates their flow above the factory inlets on the 992 Sport Classic and Turbo S. For a 992 that sees sustained load, whether on a derestricted autobahn or a circuit, that additional charge air cooling is the difference between a fixed spoiler that compromises the car and one that improves it.

Brake Light Integration

Fitting a fixed spoiler to a 992 normally raises an awkward question about the third brake light, and Evo III answers it with a purpose built frame that retains the original unit. On cars with the electrically extending spoiler, that light is reused directly. On cars with the factory aero kit and fixed wing, the equivalent light from the extending spoiler models is required and is not part of the delivery, so plan for that part before installation day.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Evo III different from the earlier ducktails? It is the most integrated of the three. The ram air ducting is carried over and refined, and the significant addition is a dedicated frame that retains the third brake light, which makes it the natural choice for cars with the factory aero kit and fixed wing.
What happens to my third brake light? The frame keeps it in service. On cars with the electrically extending spoiler the original light is reused. On factory aero kit fixed wing cars you need the light from the extending spoiler models, part number 992.945.211.c, which is not included.
Do the ram air ducts actually do anything? Yes. They direct air to the intercoolers, intake ports and engine compartment, and Moshammer rates the flow above the factory inlets of the 992 Sport Classic and Turbo S, which is the reason a fixed spoiler works on a turbocharged 992 at all.
Will it fit a Cabriolet or Targa? No. It is designed for 992.1 and 992.2 coupe bodywork, including Carrera, T, S, 4S, GTS and GT3 Touring. Cabriolet and Targa models are not suitable.
What finish does it arrive in? It is delivered primed in satin black with the mounting material included, ready for your painter to finish in body colour or a specified alternative.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
