The SOUL Sport Side Mufflers for Porsche 997.2 Carrera are designed around drone-fighting mufflers to maintain a premium driving experience, but outperform a standard muffler replacement through a hybrid talk-tube design. Each set is roughly 3.6 lbs lighter than the factory hardware it replaces (31.2 lbs vs 34.8 lbs) and is built in-house at SOUL’s Willow Grove, Pennsylvania facility. Every set ships fixture-tested in a thick-gauge aluminum fixture and foam packed, backed by SOUL’s Lifetime Warranty for confidence on the street or at the track.

Development

The 997.2 Carrera desperately needs exhaust mods, it’s so quiet you can barely hear the engine under load. The Sport Side Mufflers for Porsche 997.2 use talk tubes that bridge the piping before and after the mufflers, allowing some exhaust flow to bypass the mufflers during aggressive driving, like a mild muffler bypass without the harsh tone and volume. This hybrid design delivers a throatier, more aggressive note than a standard side muffler replacement under moderate to aggressive throttle, while maintaining the refined cabin presence of a muffled system during cruising.

Sound

SOUL mufflers use ample sound-attenuating material to increase sporty exhaust tone without inducing drone or any negative notes. They’re a great pairing with aftermarket headers or a center muffler bypass to add excitement without being overbearing, while mitigating potential rasp. If you want an OEM+ exhaust note that’s never overly aggressive, SOUL recommends this modification over a center muffler bypass exhaust.

Construction

Each system is made in-house by SOUL’s fabrication team from mandrel bent .065 inch wall, 2.25 inch diameter T304L stainless steel tubing, bespoke SOUL mufflers, and laser cut brackets. New high-grade bolts, washers, and nuts are included.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
