SOUL Performance Sport X-Pipe Exhaust System for 996 Porsche 911 Turbo

The Porsche 911 Turbo sport exhaust from SOUL Performance is a full catted system delivering a sophisticated increase in sound with no check engine lights. A proprietary X-pipe design, 3-inch piping, and quad race resonators encourage maximum power gains and an exhilarating increase in engine note and turbo wail. The system weighs approximately 30lbs less than the factory exhaust components (28lbs vs 58lbs factory). Direct bolt-on installation with instructions included. Backed by the SOUL Performance Lifetime Warranty.

Development and Testing

SOUL wanted to build an aggressive catted system that offers a modest increase in tone, including pops and burbles on deceleration, without triggering a check engine light. Supporting high power was another consideration, necessitating 3-inch tubing. SOUL experimented with adding a mixing chamber into the X-pipe design; analysis in 3D CAD software showed a general increase in velocity downstream of the mixing chamber across a band of measured pressure and temperature levels. This produces optimal flow characteristics, reduced backpressure for higher horsepower, and enhanced sound quality. Quad race resonators make a discernible difference in reducing drone while encouraging a more refined exhaust note.

Sound

The HJS catalysts flow extremely well, letting more turbo and flat-six sound through. Quad resonators add a refined tone and cut down on droning in the cabin. The volume level suits the owner looking for a sophisticated increase in sound: aggressive on heavy throttle inputs while offering a mild, sporty presence during cruising.

Construction

Each Sport X-Pipe Exhaust System is made from mandrel-bent T304L 3-inch, 0.065-inch wall stainless steel tubing, straight-through race resonators with a full metal packing design for maximum durability, and laser-cut brackets for perfect fitment. Custom Mikalor Supra Heavy-Duty Clamps are included to securely install the system to the vehicle.

HJS Catalysts

HJS catalysts are among the highest quality available, known for industry-leading flow and durability. They are efficient enough to meet strict EURO 4 emission standards while still allowing for an increase in flow, all without a check engine light. The HD design uses premium triple foil winding for maximum strength, and a brazing stripe prevents the core from moving or experiencing damage from sustained high horsepower abuse. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
