SOUL Performance Exhaust System for Ferrari 488 GTB / Pista

The SOUL Performance Ferrari 488 Pista exhaust uses larger diameter 3.5-inch piping with an X-pipe to unlock an increase in performance while unleashing an exhilarating flat-plane crank V8 wail and more turbo sound. The system weighs up to 8.35 lbs less than the factory exhaust components. Available in Sport and Competition versions to suit different sound and use-case preferences. Designed and built in-house at SOUL’s Willow Grove, PA facility and backed by the SOUL Performance Lifetime Warranty.

Development

From the factory, the Ferrari 488 is extremely reserved and quiet, a travesty for an exotic car. SOUL sought to elevate the driving experience while optimizing the exhaust for maximum power gains. The valves-open flow path on the factory system terminates in just under 3-inch piping; SOUL opted for 3.5-inch piping to maximize flow and performance, especially on vehicles paired with an ECU tune. An incorporated X-pipe results in a higher-pitched tone, while the longer piping helps smooth out the exhaust sound and mitigate drone.

Sound

Quite simply, as Enzo Ferrari intended. Expect greater presence from the turbos and greatly enhanced spooling sound under heavy throttle. The mechanical chorus of the engine is amplified in all scenarios to a perfect flat-plane crank V8 wail. The Sport version offers the perfect blend of refined aggression that is never overbearing, with the ability to fly under the radar when cruising, and full control over the volume with the right foot as the valves transition. The Competition version, a straight pipe system, is more aggressive under all conditions while still being streetable, and will certainly attract attention.

Construction

Each component is assembled in the USA from mandrel-bent, thick-wall 0.065-inch T304L stainless steel. Billet 304L stainless steel flanges are precision-cut on a 5-axis CNC machine for the best possible strength. Back-purged TIG welding with ARCAL Prime argon gas ensures proper weld penetration and long-term durability, crucial for track use. Thick-gauge aluminum fixtures act as heat sinks during welding to prevent warpage of both the components and the fixtures.

Ceramic Coating

Jet-Hot ceramic coating is available for an additional charge. Extreme (1,300°F) or Ultra Extreme Heat (2,500°F) coatings can lower surrounding temperatures by up to 65% and protect against thermal oxidation and corrosion. Contact us for more information and a quote.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
