SOUL Performance’s Competition Headers for 991 Porsche 911 GT3, GT3 RS, 911R and GT3 Cup are engineered around long-tube runners and a billet CNC-machined merge collector to unlock the full character of the platform. Independent, back-to-back dyno testing confirms real gains in power and torque, sharpening throttle response and giving the flat-six a more aggressive exhaust note to match.

Development and Testing

The Competition Headers for 991 Porsche replace the factory manifolds entirely: even a premiere engineering masterpiece like the GT3 comes from Porsche with exhaust manifolds restricted by primary tubing length, runner diameter, and merge collection efficiency due to dense catalytic converters and mass production compromises. By refining the interface between the flange and primary tubes, using smooth-radius large-diameter bends, and implementing performance-oriented collectors with merge spikes, SOUL achieves increased flow, response, and performance with a more aggressive exhaust note to match. A slip-on merge collector was ruled out to eliminate any chance of exhaust leaks; instead, SOUL designed a high-flow collector from CAD through CNC for a no-compromise result. This bespoke billet collector allows for maximized runner length and the elimination of several welds in the interest of durability, while the billet CNC head flanges create a more efficient transition from the exhaust ports into the runners and add strength in a high-stress area to prevent cracking from repeated, hard use on track days.

Construction

Each header set is assembled in-house in the USA from mandrel-bent, thick-wall .065in T304L stainless steel. The billet 304L stainless steel head flanges and merge collector are precision cut on a 5-axis CNC machine for the best possible exhaust flow and strength, and back-purged TIG welding with ARCAL Prime argon gas ensures proper weld penetration and longevity, critical for durability on track. SOUL fabricates these headers using thick-gauge aluminum fixtures that act as a heat sink during welding and prevent warping of both the product and the fixtures themselves, ensuring perfect fitment.

Power

Below are the unedited dyno results as tested by Power Up Dyno Solutions, with back-to-back before-and-after runs on an AutoQuest Motorsport 991.2 GT3 RS with no other modifications. Gains of 20.9 whp and 26.2 ft-lbs of torque come in quickly, and power increases throughout the upper power band, peaking at 24.4 whp and 15.3 ft-lbs of torque at 8,400 rpm for a noticeable gain in driving performance. An ECU tune further unlocks the increased flow for even greater gains.

Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
