The SOUL 996 GT2 exhaust is a Competition X-Pipe exhaust system built by SOUL Performance for the Porsche 996 GT2, engineered to unlock the full character of the platform. This SOUL 996 GT2 exhaust pairs free-flowing, durable construction with precise fitment to sharpen response, increase flow, and deliver a more engaging exhaust note.

Development and Testing

With the SOUL 996 GT2 exhaust, the goal was to get as aggressive as possible while minimizing drone, delivering greater volume along with more pops and burbles on deceleration. Support for high power was another consideration, which called for 3 inch tubing. During development, SOUL experimented with adding a mixing chamber into the X-pipe design. Analysis in 3D CAD software showed a general increase in velocity downstream of the mixing chamber across a band of measured pressure and temperature levels. This produces optimal flow characteristics, reduces back pressure for higher horsepower, and enhances the sound quality of the Porsche 996 GT2 exhaust.

Sound

You will finally be able to hear your Porsche 996 exhaust and turbos sing in full song, with a very aggressive sports car sound at full throttle. The 996 GT2 platform is prone to droning in the 2 to 3k RPM range with freer flowing exhausts. On the SOUL 996 GT2 exhaust, Helmholtz resonators and quad resonators cut down on that droning, though cabin volume is certainly pronounced; this is a system for those who like it aggressive. If a refined cabin experience is more important than a CUP car-inspired tone, the SOUL Sport exhaust is a more suitable option.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule.
