The SOUL Performance 991 downpipes are competition bypass pipes engineered for the Porsche 991.2 Carrera with PSE to replace factory equipment and unlock the full character of the turbocharged flat-six. Built from 3-inch diameter T304L stainless steel with factory heat shields retained, they deliver maximum exhaust flow, prominent turbo spool sound, and dyno-proven power gains tested independently at AWE Tuning’s R&D facility.

Development and Testing

SOUL selected 3-inch diameter piping to maximize exhaust flow and let the turbos be heard clearly. The Competition Bypass Pipes feature a straight-through exhaust path with valves open for maximum flow and power. The secondary tube is positioned into the Porsche Sport Exhaust to keep the valves-closed tone civil and refined while still receiving ample exhaust flow. Factory heat shields are retained to prevent heat soak of the components around the turbos.

Power

SOUL approached AWE Tuning to test the development car at their R&D facility for independent dyno results. Max gains of 20whp and 21ft-lbs of torque at 5,800 RPM were recorded on a 2017 Carrera 4S with no other modifications. Peak power was up by 10whp and 14ft-lbs. In a separate test, BoostAddict upped power in their Carrera from a baseline of 344whp and 326ft-lbs of torque to 455whp and 448ft-lbs of torque with the SOUL pipes and a race gas tune.
