Will the Akrapovic Evolution Line fit my 8Y S3 Sportback?

Yes. It is designed for the 8Y Audi S3 Sportback with an OPF/GPF. It runs from the factory down pipes back, bolts to the stock mounting points, and needs no cutting. The S3 Sedan uses a different Akrapovic part, so match the system to your body style before ordering.

Are the tailpipes included, or do I buy them separately?

They are included. This is the complete Evolution Line system, so the hand-crafted carbon-fiber tailpipes and the sound valve come in the box. Nothing else is required to finish the exhaust once it is installed.

How much power and weight does the Akrapovic Evolution Line change?

It adds a measured 5.4 hp, 4 kW, at 4,350 rpm and 8.8 Nm at 3,900 rpm, with no remap needed. It also removes 8.8 kg, about 19.5 lb, from the car, which is roughly 42.5 percent lighter than the stock system it replaces.

Is it street legal, and does it keep the OPF?

It is ECE type-approved for OPF-equipped cars, and it installs from the factory down pipes back, leaving the car's emissions hardware in place. Emissions rules vary by state and country, so confirm the requirements where the car is registered before installing.

What is the Akrapovic Evolution Line made from?

The Akrapovic Evolution Line uses Akrapovic's proprietary titanium for the muffler and link-pipe section, hand-welded in the company's own foundry, with a foundry-cast sound valve and hand-crafted carbon-fiber tailpipes. The titanium build is what makes the system about 42.5 percent lighter than stock.

Do I need a tune to run it?

No. The system is plug-and-play and needs no remap. The Akrapovic valve handles the sound, staying quiet at a cruise and opening up under load, so you get the note and the weight savings without any ECU work.

Description

Akrapovic Evolution Line for 8Y Audi S3 Sportback

The Akrapovic Evolution Line for the 8Y Audi S3 Sportback is the full titanium system, not a tip swap, and it turns the everyday 2.0 TFSI into something with real presence. Akrapovic casts and hand-welds its own titanium in Slovenia and casts the valve housing in the same foundry, the material science behind the systems it builds for factory and championship motorsport, brought here to a car people drive every day. Running from the factory down pipes back, the titanium mufflers, link pipes and resonators drop 8.8 kg, about 19.5 lb, and free 5.4 hp with no remap, while hand-crafted carbon tailpipes finish the look. For the S3 owner who wants the sound, the weight and the finish of a proper Akrapovic system, this is the complete answer.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
