Sound and Valve Control
A specially designed exhaust valve, cast in Akrapovic’s own foundry, regulates the character of the sound through Control Kit electronics that integrate directly with AMG Dynamic Select. Drivers can select a comfortable everyday mode with a smooth, drone-free tone, or a sportier setting with deep midrange character and crackles on overrun, all from the car’s existing drive mode selector rather than a separate aftermarket switch.

The Evolution Line (Titanium) system is ECE type approved for vehicles equipped with an Otto/gasoline particulate filter, so it’s legal for road use in markets that recognize ECE approval. That approval is voided if you add the optional Downpipe (SS), which is intended for closed-course use only.
- Do I need to buy any other parts along with this Akrapovic A45 exhaust? Yes. The system ships in two parts for packaging reasons, so the Evolution Link pipe set L-ME/SS/3 is mandatory alongside S-ME/T/1H. You’ll also need a Control Kit to power the AMG Dynamic Select valve control, so budget for both before ordering.
- Which Control Kit do I need for my Mercedes-AMG A45? It depends on your build date. Akrapovic split production at the A-Class facelift in mid-2023, so cars built after that date use Control Kit P-HF1528, while earlier cars need the pre-facelift kit.
