Each set fits all Porsche 996 Carreras (1999-2004), saves 6.25 lb (2.8 kg) versus OEM (15 lb vs 8.75 lb), and is designed and built in-house in Willow Grove, PA from 2.25-inch OD, 0.065-inch thick-wall T304L stainless with smooth mandrel bends and thick flanges. Every set is fixture test-fit, quality-checked, and foam packed, includes new header-flange hardware, and is backed by SOUL Performance’s Lifetime Warranty for street and track use, though upgrading of the factory pipes may trigger a check engine light and the system is not CARB certified for emissions-controlled vehicles.

Development

• The factory 996 Carrera free flow pipes are notably restrictive, which is why upgrading them is such a common modification. SOUL Performance took a fresh look at the exhaust layout to develop the most effective solution, and side-by-side sound testing between a split-bank design and an X-pipe showed that the X-pipe produces a hollower tone and removes desirable low-frequency depth on the 996. By keeping the banks separated, SOUL Performance delivers more volume and character with a deeper, fuller flat-six note and a slight rasp that feels almost air-cooled inspired. The result is improved throttle response and overall drivability, with noticeable gains in sound and power.

Construction

• Each set is assembled from 2.25-inch OD, thick-wall 0.065-inch T304L stainless steel and is rigorously quality-checked in-house. Smooth mandrel bends and thick flanges support long-term durability, and every set of cat bypass pipes is fixture test-fit to confirm proper fitment before being foam packed to help ensure it arrives in perfect condition. New hardware is included for the header flanges.
