Pairing SOUL Performance free-flowing Over Axle Pipes with the SOUL Performance Valved Exhaust System removes the primary bottlenecks in the GT4 RS exhaust path, unlocking maximum sound and performance potential while still providing comfortable cruising with the valves closed. Thanks to the Over Axle Pipes’ unique oval design and the Valved Exhaust’s X-pipe architecture, the system maintains a true 3-inch flow path throughout, allowing the 4.0-liter flat-six to fully express its motorsports pedigree.

Development and Testing

SOUL Performance developed its Valved Exhaust System to maximize sound and performance while still offering true cruising civility. A full 3-inch X-pipe design delivers a high-pitched motorsport flat-six tone with the valves open and a more subdued character with the valves closed, and pairing it with Competition or Resonated Over Axle Pipes further uncorks factory restrictions for added response, power, and volume. To eliminate the drone that can come with increased output, SOUL Performance engineered and tested dedicated “drone canisters” tuned to target the low-to-mid 2,000 RPM range, shifting the drone zone down the rev range and significantly reducing peak frequencies. Because this architecture is designed around aftermarket OAPs, SOUL Performance’s Street Package pairs the Valved Exhaust with optional Competition OAPs for maximum volume or Resonated OAPs for a smoother, more restrained tone and even lower drone, with track-friendly canister access and optional block-off kits planned to drop 8.5lb.

Construction

Each system is assembled in-house in the USA using mandrel-bent, thick-wall 0.065″ T304L stainless steel. SOUL Performance employs back-purged TIG welding with ARCAL™ Prime argon gas to ensure proper weld penetration and long-term durability. Precision water-jet-cut flanges are manufactured to ISO 9001:2015 standards with tight tolerances of +/- 0.003 inches for exceptional accuracy. Over Axle Pipes are fabricated on thick-gauge aluminum fixtures that act as effective heat sinks during welding, helping prevent warping of both the components and the fixtures to maintain consistent, OEM-quality fitment.

Exhaust Tip Selection

For drivers who want to retain the factory appearance, SOUL Performance notes that the system can be run with OEM exhaust tips. However, the OEM tips use a much smaller inlet diameter, which forces a neck-down in the exhaust path that introduces a restriction and reduces overall performance. To maximize results on the GT4 RS, SOUL Performance strongly recommends their high-performance exhaust tips, engineered to match the full 3-inch system with no compromises.

Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
