SOUL Performance Valved Exhaust System with Dual Wall Tips for 982 Porsche 718 Boxster / Cayman

The SOUL Valved Exhaust System for the Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman (2017+) is designed to provide a true “PSE Plus” sound profile, staying refined and comfortable with the valves closed while delivering a more aggressive tone under load when the valves are opened, without becoming intrusive in the cabin. Constructed from mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel with 2.5-inch OD over-axle piping, the system features fortified muffler casings and high-quality sound-deadening packing engineered for long-term durability and highly effective drone reduction. With the valves closed, exhaust flow is routed through the SOUL muffler and into the outer piping via perforations for a composed, daily-driver-friendly tone; opening the valves allows freer flow through large 2.5-inch piping while the perforations keep the exhaust interacting with the muffler to produce a fuller, more robust note. When paired with an upgraded downpipe or catalytic converter, the system adds a pronounced level of snarl and crackle without droning across RPM and throttle loads, with Sport mode further increasing crackles and burbles. A valve controller is included with every system (required for non-PSE cars and optional for PSE-equipped cars), with operation through the factory PSE button, included fobs, and HomeLink compatibility, and each exhaust is fixture-tested, foam packed, and backed by SOUL’s lifetime warranty for street and track use.

Development

• SOUL Performance set out to develop a valved exhaust that delivers a refined cabin presence while bringing out a more aggressive note that makes the 718 flat-four sound distinctly Porsche, addressing one of the platform’s most common complaints. While increasing volume on the 718 is easy, SOUL Performance recognized that compensating for the turbocharger and extensive factory sound deadening can introduce undesirable traits such as rasp and drone. By applying the same design principles used throughout SOUL Performance’s renowned Valved Exhaust line for previous Boxster and Cayman generations, the system provides a controlled, refined increase in sound that pairs exceptionally well with a freer-flowing upgraded downpipe, producing a mature exhaust note without ever becoming overbearing. As a result, it is a superior option for vehicles not equipped with Porsche Sport Exhaust from the factory.

Sound

• SOUL Performance constructs each system from mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel tubing, including 2.5-inch OD over-axle piping, and equips it with mufflers featuring fortified casings to promote long-term durability. With the valves closed, exhaust gases are routed into the SOUL muffler, which is packed with high-quality sound-deadening material engineered to withstand sustained abuse without blowing out over time. The mufflers are highly effective at minimizing drone, allowing exhaust gases to pass through the muffler and exit through perforations into the outer piping. With the valves open, exhaust gases are free to flow out through large 2.5-inch piping, while the perforations allow the exhaust to interact with the muffler to encourage a fuller, more robust tone.

• Each SOUL Performance exhaust is test-fit in a dedicated fixture to verify proper fitment, then foam packed to help ensure it arrives in perfect condition. Detailed installation instructions are included for a straightforward install that most DIY enthusiasts can complete. Valve operation is controlled through the factory valve button, SOUL’s valve controller fobs, and is compatible with HomeLink.
