The SOUL Valved Exhaust System for the Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman (2017+) is engineered to deliver a refined, drone-free cabin experience while providing a distinctly more aggressive exhaust tone on demand, creating a true “PSE Plus” character – composed and quiet with the valves closed, and noticeably more assertive under load with the valves open. Developed to address how muted the turbo flat-four can sound from the factory, the system applies proven design principles to add depth and presence without introducing rasp or unwanted drone, even when paired with an upgraded downpipe or catalytic converter. Constructed from mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel with 2.5-inch OD over-axle piping, the exhaust features fortified mufflers packed with high-quality sound-deadening material for long-term durability and effective drone suppression, routing exhaust through the muffler in quiet mode and allowing freer flow through large 2.5-inch piping when the valves open for a fuller, more robust tone. This configuration is finished with Straight Cut Single Wall tips in Signature Satin, with depth adjustment for a precise, tailored appearance. Designed as a direct bolt-on upgrade with instructions included, the kit also includes a valve controller (required for non-PSE cars and optional for PSE-equipped cars for manual override), with operation via the factory valve button, included fobs, and HomeLink compatibility, and it is backed by a lifetime warranty for street and track use.

Development

• SOUL Performance set out to develop a valved exhaust that delivers a refined cabin experience while bringing out a more aggressive note that makes the 718 flat-four sound distinctly Porsche, addressing one of the platform’s most common complaints. While increasing volume on the 718 is easy, SOUL Performance recognized that compensating for the turbocharger and extensive factory sound deadening can introduce undesirable characteristics such as rasp and drone. By applying the same design principles used throughout SOUL’s renowned Valved Exhaust line for previous Boxster and Cayman generations, the system provides a controlled, mature increase in sound that pairs exceptionally well with an upgraded, freer-flowing downpipe without ever becoming overbearing. This solution is an ideal upgrade for vehicles not equipped with Porsche Sport Exhaust from the factory.

Sound

• SOUL Performance constructs each system from mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel tubing, including 2.5-inch OD over-axle piping, and equips it with mufflers featuring fortified casings to promote long-term durability. With the valves closed, exhaust gases are routed through the SOUL muffler, which is packed with high-quality sound-deadening material engineered to withstand sustained abuse without blowing out over time, resulting in highly effective drone reduction. Exhaust gases pass through the muffler and exit through perforations into the outer piping. With the valves open, exhaust gases are allowed to flow freely through large 2.5-inch piping, while the integrated perforations let the exhaust interact with the muffler to encourage a fuller, more robust exhaust tone.
